Hello all.

I've been using the T3's for a couple of weeks now.

My question is about dry-burning. I take that metal post out and then the 2 "flavor" wicks, and do a dry burn.

The problem is that I can't get the 2 wicks back in. They fall apart and it's almost impossible to get back into those slots.

Can I dry burn with those 2 wicks still in there? It seems to burn them up a bit so I don't think it'll work.

Any suggestions?

That would be a bad idea. you can rewick these if needed or just buy a new one for a couple of bucks..
you will need kanthal and wicking found at many places to rewick and recoil if so desired.
If you leave on the top wick it will scortch the wick and taste nasty.
Id say for as cheap as the heads are to just buy a few. imo

yes you can leave out the top wick. works good for me.

I've dry burned the head I'm currently using 5 or 6 times so far and it's still okay. I burn for no longer than 5 seconds or until the coil glows orange/red then let it cool for 15 - 30 seconds and repeat until the coil glows as evenly as possible. So far, so good.

For wicks, I'm investigating replacing mine with cotton. My current head has been use for about 14 weeks and I think the wicks need changing, but I don't have any of the regular material so I'm going to try cotton. Can't dry burn with the cotton wick installed, but if you get a ball of Cotton Butcher's Twine that should last for years. Just change out the wick each time you do a dry burn.

Here's more information on cotton wicks: Cotton Wick Wiki

Sometimes when I dry burn I break the coils. I am burning 2-3 seconds at a time. Is anyone else having that problem? Where is a good place to buy stuff to replace the flavor wicks?

make sure to turn down your voltage when doing dry burns to avoid popping the coil.
lots of places have silica wicking material available. heres one:
Silica Wick 24" 1.5mm

Same coil (same condition as out of the box) for 14 weeks?????? I replace mine every week because they loose flavour and smoke.
