Locally, my vape store switched to their bottom coil tanks being all t3s, stating they have fewer leak issues. I have experienced the opposite. It seems to me that the two part atomizer adds more variables to the leakage issue: two grommets instead of one (and one always seems to pop up out of position), as well as tightening to the base. I've had a few that I had tightened really tightly actually come loose enough to leak. I don't see how adding more variables that can cause leaks makes for a better system. I'm frustrated with clearomizers to the point I'm thinking of quitting vaping. I do like the protank, but wish there were decent clearos in all price ranges. I feel like I'm always throwing my money away on leaked juice and cracked or leaking clearos. Any thoughts?

Fascinating. I've not had any issues with the T3S (I'm using one right now). If by grommets you mean the o-rings, do you "lube" them a bit with juice or assemble dry? I did get a fake/clone/knock-off T3S that had all sorts of issues, but with genuine Kanger, no problems.

You might want to look into, specifically, a "sidewinder" type carto tank, like those sold by Valley View Vapes and others. The cartos last a long time, give good flavor and vapor, and with a screw filler hole on the side of the tank, no mess when refilling or changing liquids. If size is an issue, a 19mm diameter carto tank is only a bit over 4mm larger than a T3S.

I have a t3 and I haven't had any problems with it but I always feel the draw is too tight. The protank mini is a vast improvement and I prefer it even to my standard protank.
Make sure the vent holes in the base are drilled all the way through to the inside threads. Knock offs, and occasionally, even a real Kanger may have holes "just shy" of all the way through.

I'm not a big fan of the T3S either. (Not T3, but the new T3S). I feel like it doesn't produce enough vape and I always get leaks. I even recoiled and rewicked with cheesecloth and I just get a whole bunch of dry hits and more leaking.
I have to wonder if it's genuine. I have a T3S that the draw on it was super hard because none of the vent holes were drilled through, the vapor was poor, the flavor weak, it flooded and leaked. I had to replace the coil head 3 times just to get it not to leak.

I bought another S3T from Mt. Baker Vapor, who states, in no uncertain terms, that what you're buying from them is genuine Kanger. Comparing the real deal and the possible knock-off side by side, the quality of the Kanger from Mt. Baker was obviously better, the overall consistency, the metal finish quality, the o-ring seals, the wick and coil winding, the clearo body, the threads... all of it, all far better than, what I'm now almost 100% sure is a fake.

The new S3T works perfectly. After a week, still using the original coil head with very good flavor and vapor production.

I should clarify that I have a mini T3, and yeah, at least one of the vent holes is seriously misdrilled. Not sure if it's a knock off but I got it from Smokeless Image some time ago.

I did forget to mention that I'm vaping 100%VG. Which could be a big factor. I have yet found a good method to vape 100% VG, I dont' want to derail the topic, but if someone has suggestions, please PM me or something. I've tried recoiling, rewicking with cheesecloth, cotton balls, cotton pads. (All of which burn easily and often leaves a cottony taste (bleh)).

I've not tried 100%VG... but I hear it's "fun". Perhaps a carto tank with a 3 hole, or enlarged hole carto? I don't know, I currently am using standard 2 hole Boge in my tanks, but I'm using mostly 30%PG or greater juice.

Good luck sorting it out,
C
