I've noticed that with some of my clearomizer a dark brown color begins to start forming at the bottom of the clearomizer, closest to the batter, after some use. I'm no sure if this is because of the juice getting heated and burning, residue from the wick, or some fault from the clearomizer. i just bought some more eliquid and noticed this piece of advice from the vendor:

Please do not load Cinnamon, Black Licorice, Citrus Flavors, Mt Dew, Sweet Tarts, Amaretto, or Lavender flavor into these. <<< if you are looking to vape these flavors please try any of our aluminum cartomizers or dripping into an atomizer.

Does anybody have the slightest clue as to what's causing this color? and why you shouldnt use those flavors above. i have noticed it mostly on my apple pie, some on my peppermint, but not nearly as much...

The advice is probably because those type of juices are known to crack the type plastic your clear-o is made of . As far as the brown sludge is normal in my clear-o's and tells me the juice is done .. I think it has something to do with burn juice being wicked back into the fresh juice . But I could be wrong ...

Eliquids on your list are known to crack plastic and thus are not recommended for use in clearomizers. basically, any liquid containing essential oils will do that. I don't vape those, but that is just my preference.

Juices darken when they circulate through the heating coil; most of the darkening is due to the unvaporized sediment that gunks up the coil first and then gets slowly dissolved by the circulating juice. When this happens, I fill my clearo with pure PG, VG, or a blend of the two, with or without nic added, several times, until the juice begins to run clear again. Upping the voltage a bit helps s lot. PG is a decent solver and cleans coils very well. I learned that trick from LGD a long time ago and I've been performing it ever since.

Anyway, it works for me. As usual, YMMV. :)

Happy vaping!
