Long time vapor here and I've been having issues with Kanger for a long time and cant take it any more. I've been using Kanger since the T3 got me off of the cardo tank madness.. From the T3 to the Protank 2 which I used the most and now I have the Aero Tank. The thing that all 3 of these tanks do is leave a bad aftertaste in my mouth and the flavor is very mute. This aftertaste gets worse as the cardo goes bad.. Now for months like getting use to sugar free soda I kind of got use to it.. In Feb I got the Iclear 30s and was blown away from removal of that aftertaste. I use all new coils in all my tanks and the Kangers are bad.. The Iclear 30s tastes better but not great.. Going through my draws I found my old Vivi nova mini with a new coil and was blown away how much better that compared to the Kangers.. Its sad I have 5 boxes of coils and just got the Aero and I'm going back to a 2 year old Vivi. Has anyone else had this burnt after taste from the Kangers?

Once I got my 1st Kanger T3 and Vivi Nova mini I never touched the carto tanks again. I hated punching and priming them.. About the taste I still get it after I change the coils.. Im rolling with 3 of them now and they all have this funky aftertaste and the iclear 30s and vivi don't.. The vivi to my has the best flavor and the iclear 30s biggest cloud. But theres something about these Kangers I just don't know.

With the rebuilding thing, that's why I got away from cardo tanks.. I don't want to tinker I want plug n play.. For the last few days I'm running PT2, Aerotank, Iclear30s and Vivi nova all with brand new coils and the Kangers are the ones with the worst flavor I cant figure out why a sweet watermelon tastes like .... in the Kanger and best in a old Vivi.. I'm bummed out about it because I like the look and easy of the Kangers. I have enough new coils to last me till summer. Now I got to get something to replace the kangers.. If I were into tinkering then RBA is what I would do.. I just want something easy.

Well, EG then I would recommend the IClear 30s. For a stock clearo, they are pretty hard to beat. I have had coils last over a month in them. A lot of people are really in love with the Aspire Nautilus as well, although the replacement coils are kinda expensive and it's a big beast too. I have only tried one, I don't own one myself, but it did have really good flavor. Try selling off the PT's and coils in the classies...

Ok.... I can't stand the taste from my Kanger PT2. Burnt and muted. I cleaned it all out 3 times with hot soapy water...and it's a new coil. Yes...my IClear 30 and IClear 16 blow it away. It's too bad, because the Kanger looks like a well built tank. I am going to do a micro coil cotton rebuild tonight. Will see if it help any. The one thing I have not done with my Kanger coil is a dry burn. I'll post back later with my findings after the rebuild.

So....I rebuilt it using 28g Kanthal and Cotton wick. 1.1 Ohms on my SVD. More burnt taste. Dry hits. Even at low voltage/wattage. My verdict on my Kanger PT2 is in. It's a P.O.S. Sorry Kanger. But you're gonna have to do better for me to ever try another Kanger product again.

I've been using evods and pro tank exclusively since I started vaping last year. I have been rebuilding the kanger heads since I started. I rebuild the heads like stock with 2mm silica and 2x1mm flavor wicks. Nothing special. I noticed the flavor really increased once I raised the ohms. I was building them around 1.6-1.8ohms. Now I used 2.5ohm ready wires and the flavor is amazing. I haven't changed the power level, it's still at 8 watts. I'm not sure why, but the flavor seemed muted with the low ohms, at least with a 32g regular coil.

You know, I've found that when a protank hits it's completely awesome! But the problem is you'll get one good head out of five. I love the smoothness and draw on the Nautilus, but to be perfectly honest, I find it mutes my flavors. And for the love of man, unless you're totally enamoured of Absolute Pin by Five Pawns, DO NOT put it in your Nautilus. I'm still trying to get the flavor of it out of the plastic gasket at the bottom of the tank.:glare:

im starting to get in the same boat. not digging the taste of the protanks. Both my iclear 16's blows it away in flavor. Ive tried everything except rebuilding the coils on them and not sure if im gonna that route. My protank 3 mini is great, great flavor and great hits but my protank 2 and 3 both taste super muted and has a weird after taste. I put air flow valves on them hoping that might do me some good but it really hasnt helped much. I bought an iclear 30s and an iclear x.1 and they arent bad just dont get as good of a hit off them. Hopefully my kraken will set me strait.

I've been rebuilding the EVOD/PT heads for over a year now, but wanted to get something with more capacity, so I tried some MT3s, which have similar but different heads. So I got a couple 5-packs of heads. MAYBE 2 of the 10 heads worked worth a dang. Most either gave dry hits, burnt out after 5mls, leaked like mad, or simply didn't fire at all.
Never had that issue with the EVOD/PT heads from last year.
I think Kanger is having a QC problem with heads right now. Had to rebuild them all.
Enter the Kayfun :)

PS. my new T3s and their heads seem to be doing great do far.

Ok. Not gonna give up on my PT 2 after reading this post. Will build up a coil in a few days that hits at 2.5 ohms. I'll post back my results here. Hoping not to get too burnt a taste. That's my major problem. Burnt dry hits. I might try silica too.

I just started using PTII's several weeks ago after getting a brand new one in trade. I just had to try because I had been using Aspire BDC for so long. After building my own coil and wicking with P&C yarn I am now a regular user. I now have 3 PTII'S and a MagnaVape Pro Killer which uses PT heads. The flavor and vapor on my builds is incredible. I usually change the wick out once a week. But I also don't use many dark juices or high VG content.

I'm using 100% VG and it did not wick well with the stock single coil Kanger attys in the Mini 2's. Rewicked with cotton and it made a huge difference. I'm getting excellent juice flow and flavor. Single piece of cotton through coil, no flavor wicks. I prime the wick with a few drops of juice before I put the chimney on, fill tank, attach head, flip over, give it a couple primer puffs and if an air bubble comes up you are ready to go. If you are getting dry hits with cotton the wick is too dense or tight in the coil.

I'm currently using 20/80 pg/vg and a cotton wick coil rebuild helped dramatically. I also put air valves on mine and they help me prime the atomizer head. I can tighten the air valve until it's cut off and pull the juice into the head. I hope that makes sense. A vv battery and coils around 2.0 - 2.5 seem to work with the above setup. I haven't rebuilt the mini pt 3 dual coil yet but I will be doing that soon. It works surprisingly well for me right out of the box.

Ok I'm back. Having issues with my PT 2 and taste. My third rebuild now. Silica wick, Ni-Chrome wire. A big change from cotton/kanthal. Resistance 1.8 ohms. Dry burned the silica. My Kanger is on 2 strikes. One more and she's out!

It's vapable now. But I am drawing too much air. Vapor production isn't the greatest. Bad taste seem to be gone. All in all I give the PT tank 2 , 2 stars out of 5. 3 would be pushing it. I personally would not recommend this product.

As far as stock set ups go, the IClear 30, 30s both blow the PT2's out of the water for flavor and vapor. When you re-build PT2's with micro coils wicked with cotton, that changes the whole game.

If you care to learn how to rebuild them, they are great.

This is the truth. I nanocoil wicked with cotton on a PT II is amazing! Oh and also the aerobase!
