Kanger 'Xbox Mini' ... How is the black finish holding up?

EDIT: Title says "Xbox" Mini ..... I mean "Kbox" Mini

I guess the Kanger Kbox Mini has been available long enough now that someone here might be able to tell me how that black finish on it is holding up over time ... Does it get scratches easy? ... Paint peeling off?

Also, how is the chipset working? Any glitches in it?

One last thing ... I have read that is has a fixed 510 center pin, while others have said it has a spring-loaded center pin ... What's the real deal?

I got mine super cheap kinda on a lark. IIRC like 17 bucks.

So I started playing with one, I bought several to give away, and turns out I love it. I mean LOVE it.

Paint I can't say as I covered mine in camo duct tape. This is my beater mod but looks fine to me.

The 510 is spring loaded.

Goofy chip?? Well..................sorta. It flakes out from time to time. Just unscrew the battery and put it back on and your in business. Annoying?? I suppose but honestly not a big deal.

I'm at 35 or 40 watts 90% of the time and battery life isn't that great. The same battery in a different mod at the same watts gives better life. Again not a big deal but you should be aware.

For 17 bucks nothing else even comes close to this for the money.

From everything I have read, this Kbox Mini has been available in kit form (comes with an atomizer) for a few months already, but the Kbox Mini is not available for purchase by itself yet.

I am surprised you were able to get one without the atomizer ... and at the cheap cheap price of only $17.

Do you think that maybe you have some kind of a clone?

I have a Kbox.

It sounds like your asking now about the subox.

I bought my daughter a Subox. Its very nice but very different then the Kbox.

Subox is the kbox mini. Original is just kbox.
Kbox mini :No spring loaded pin, no issues with chip, button hadn't missed a beat. Paint, well I'm tough on mine, paint scratches, display is scratched to hell too.
Bottom line, is a very decent cheap mod.

I am talking about the "Kbox Mini" 50-watt VW battery.

I guess the confusion is that when they sell the "Kbox Mini" 50-watt VW battery as a [kit] that also includes the Kanger "Subtank Mini" atomizer .... Kanger then calls this whole kit the "Subox" Mini" starter kit.

The Kbox Mini 50-watt battery mod is supposed to be made available very soon [without] the atomizer, but I understand that right now you can only get the Kbox Mini as a kit that also includes the atomizer (Subox Mini kit)

Names confuse me.

Ok, the Subox. Its not spring loaded and I screwed several atty's on and some work and some don't. So its pot luck.

The Kbox handles all atty's nicely.

The chip set in the Subox works well now but long term no idea.
