Kangertech Subohm Tanks Leak!

Good Day Everyone,

I know there are a few posts about Kangertech subohm tanks leaking. This is what I have discovered on mine which I have the Kangertech Plus, Nano and Mini. All do the same. If I use the .50 Ohm coil and run about 25-30 W I get juice build up under the coil in the base and it leaks out of the airholes. If I use the 1.2 Ohm coil and run it at about 14-17W I get very little leaking and it does not leak out the airholes. I did buy the subohm coils online and did not check for authenticity and wondering if they are fake. Anybody else have this issue. I do not think it is O ring

I found that it's easy to not tighten the coil head enough, especially with the new head design. It's also easy to not get the two rings that hold it together tight enough. The O rings are probably fine, just not enough pressure on them.

I have three Nanos, but don't subohm much. They just work really well with X6 style batteries. Not many people would want to do this, but it's possible to use Protank coil heads in them, and they seem to fit better and not leak. Problem for a lot of people being that the lowest resistance they come in is 1.5ohms.

It is really sad to have so many good tanks just to have a serious fault like leaking occur on all the line. I had to buy an Atlantis just to subohm because of the issues. So far so good with the Atlantis, no leaking what so ever. Which is really nice.

I've had great results from the eGo One tank that came with my eVic. Came with 0.4 and 0.2 coils, never leaks. For me the only problem is keeping the vape cool enough for my liking with subohm coils.

I'm not really sure why I like the Kanger tanks so much, other than the fact that when they aren't leaking, they give really smooth hits and hardly ever a burnt hit.

I had problems with my Subtank Plus leaking until I cranked up the wattage to about 36 watts. It vaporized the extra juice that was collecting and solved the problem.

Thanks I will try that, I am more wondering if anybody has had issues between the 1.2 ohm and .5 ohm coils with the .5 ohm coils causing leaks?

Yes using vertical coils, I never thought of that and with the high temp it maybe causing the leak, it is so funny because the base under the coil is full of juice.
I think this is a picture of the vertical (left) vs the hortizontal (right) coils.

... I have done as increased the airflow to the max and jacked my wattage up ...

I was just about to post this. When I first got my Subtank Nano I used 0.5 ohm coils but with a reduced airflow because that was what I was used to in my Protank2. I did occassionally have some leaking into the base. Once I started to get into doing lung hits, I switched to the wide setting on the air vents, and the leaking issues went away.

They way I was told by one of the vape shops I go to is that the coils are wide open and go to the base, you can see right through them. If you vape with the airholes closed it will cause a build-up, one of the other members on here recommended increasing the temp so I tried both and been using it all morning without too much leakage. That is what I love about forums, together we can solve issues!

I have 3 sub tank minis and a couple of the subtank plus. I haven't experienced any leaking but I use the rebuildable section. I noticed if I don't ensure the cotton covers the two holes it would leak early on.

I used up the stock coils that came with the box kits quickly. I can't remember if they leaked because they only lasted a day or so. I've heard a lot of people say those leak, but I don't buy those. I do know if your wicking on the RBA part isn't covering the holes they will leak. :thumb:
