yeh that's what i'm using .5 coils. I'm not disappointed with the subtank cause the flavour is spot on. I just look at other vapers and think 'why don't mine do that?' So you think if i want to cloud chase get a bigger battery pack which gives out more then 50watts?

Partly that, but it's moreso about the atomizer you put on top of it.

Rebuildable dripping atomizers (RDA's) are the go-to for cloud chasers, as they allow the widest airflow, the largest build deck, and the necessity to build your own coils. They're a bit more advanced than a standard tank, and not something you can just hop straight into and understand.

Yeh your right, first time I've ever heard of an RDA, I've got the stuff to make my own coils (which came with my starter kit) but never considered on building them, don't think I'd know how to to be honest.

It gets pretty complicated the deeper you go, but this is a great basic tutorial on making "macro coils" (excuse the wacky personality, the info is still very good):

I started off on macro coils, and still pretty much swear by 'em. You're gonna wanna acquire some new pieces of kit if you go to RDA's. Primarily you'll need

- some wire (Kanthal A1, 26 gauge is a good place to start),
- some wick (I like Koh Gen Do Japanese cotton),
- an ohm reader (you can use the one built into your device, but it's more reliable to have an external to double-check),
- and some tweezers/pliers/wire cutters/general tools.

Stick to regulated mods, don't build lower than .3 ohms, buy batteries from reliable sources (Illumn/RTDVapor) and you'll be fine.

I will have a look now, thank you.

That helped out alot, i know what I'm getting next now! I will be able to put a mod onto my kangertech batterypack though won't i?

Wha?

The mod is the battery pack. You'll be able to put a different atomizer on it, yes. You won't be able to.. daisy-chain.. mods together.. if that's what you're asking.

sorry the comment before you threw me off with the mech mod, I obviously haven't got 1 of them have i? So like you said just change my atomizer if want more vape? Once i get my moneys worth out of this i will upgrade to a mech mod, only had this subox mini a couple of weeks.

No, don't upgrade to a mech mod.. There's a lot more intricacies, they're inherently less safe than something with a chip (ie: a regulated mod) and that user was mostly being sarcastic. It was a bit uncalled for.

You might be right. But OP stated that he wants to chase clouds ASAP even thought he sounds to be quite new to vaping and doesn't even know the basics of it. So I told him the ASAP method. With a fair warning which, seems to me, he ignored.

My honest advice: if you desperately want to chase clouds, read everything you can find about it, how to do it and how not to do it and only then attempt to do it. And stick to regulated mods, like nyiddle recommended.

So is vaping, just to pursue clouds. IMO.

Personally I wasn't satisfied with vaping (I was still smoking cigarettes) when I was on CE4's and the like. When I switched to RDA's (getting to be like 2+ years ago now) it was the golden ticket. I still use some carto tanks from time to time, for convenience sake, but RDA's are the thing that truly got me off cigarettes..

So when I see someone looking for "more clouds" I don't jump to the conclusion that they want to enter a cloud contest -- most cloud contests don't allow regulated mods anyway, which is all I ever use/recommend these days. I assume that they're in the same boat as me, and aren't satisfied with the throat hit or the flavor or the specific way some pre-built heads taste.

At this point, I'm neither a flavor-chaser nor a cloud-chaser. I vape primarily flavorless, 50/50 VG/PG with ~6mg of nicotine at .6 ohms usually around 5-6V (or 50-60W). If I were to do a deep lung inhale, it definitely "chucks" but I'm rarely ever blowing huge clouds -- the ramp-up time at .6 ohms (14 wraps) is pretty monstrous.

Jeez, this was a rant. I may be a bit inebriated, but I just felt the need to justify. I started vaping to quit smoking, and it wasn't until I moved to (what would arguably be called) a "cloud chaser setup" that I was able to successfully do so. I realize others may have different experiences, but I'm just speaking from what I know while trying to offer safe ways to do it. Because I mean, whether I offer the most useful advice on the planet or the worst advice ever, OP is still gonna do what OP wants to do. I'd rather me tell him the right way than him go out and learn the wrong way, y'know?

That's my response in 3000 words or less my ......

Except the OP mentioned "cloud chasing"... twice.

RDAs and sub-ohming don't mean CC by default. I'm in the same boat as you, I sub exclusively and enjoy the hell out of a nice 2 cu. ft. thick exhale. But 40+years of combustion mean I'm ill equipped for lung busters.

Doesn't matter, I was mostly being snarky... mostly.

To me, bleeding edge cloud chasing is an affectation based activity. And a pretty fey one at that.
Much like Cricket.

yeah - i wouldn't really consider a mech mod an 'upgrade' over some of the regulateds available - my sig 150w tc box or x cube 2 will outperform a mech...
