Quick one for the experts. (i only have 28 gauge wire at this time so no other options)

1) Kanthal 28G. wire - twisted 3 times. preferred or troublesome?

2) how many is max twists ? (quad - 4 wires twisted together)?

3) is it preferred to do one coil or two in an atty?

4) and the most important.
(a) for 3 twists, how many wraps?
(b) for 4 how many?

5) side note. twisted vs parallel? which is better?

You really need to play around with Steam-engine, I will give you a good idea of what to target you build at...
1. Number of wires to twist together depend on OHM, Heat flux and heat capacity goal.
2. there is no limit to the number of wires you can twist together. I suppose at some point the wire will no longer be flexible enough to wrap and become too massive to fit an atty.
3. Again depends on your goal...... I prefer build single coil builds.. So when I want dual coil type vape, I run a parallel or twisted wire coil.
4. again depends on what you want.
5. A truck is best for transporting heavier loads, a car is better for transporting people, which is the best vehicle for me? Sometimes twisted is better sometimes parallel.

I had trouble twisting four strands of 28 yesterday. Two attempts and one strand would protrude in random places. On second attempt I tried guiding the strands evenly a sewing machine bobbin and an old occ head that had four inlet holes. Made isable wire but still with two non uniform areas.

Then I realised. If to take two or three circles and bring them to contact all the circles touch every other evenly. If you take four, they dont, they may slip in one directs or the other as three of th will try to return to the natural configuration of three leaving a protrusion.

Yet twisted messes said at one time that his favorite wire was 6 strands of 28 spiral wire. Maybe I missed something.

i agree its not easy. i never knew 28 was this thin. i regret buying it. nevertheless i have to learn.

twisted messes is dedicated to creating all sorts of funky stuff and he's talented at doing so. i mean for crying out loud look at the beauty of this coil: Stapled Tiger Coil

If you really want four wires, you can always do a 2 strand twist, and then twist two of those together.
When I want a 4 strand twist, that is more or less what I do.
I just take 1 long wire, fold it in half, twist it, then fold it again, and twist it.
