Can you buy Kanthal wire from any hardware, craft, or walmart stores, or do you have to order it from a Vapor store?

Not sure, I get mine from my supplier, firecrackervapor.com. That's how I got started vaping, he's an old friend from school. I was wondering the same thing though. Please let me know if you find out anything here, as I only have 28 guage right now and am interested in bigger
I get mine from TEMCo Industrial Power Supply out of Fremont, CA. Super cheap for 100ft roll. I use 28ga kanthal. And as of finding kanthal wire anywhere else but vapeshops, thats the case for me. Can't find it anywhere outside of temco, vape websites, or B&M.

I get all my kanthal from TEMCo as well. They have the best prices and fast free shipping.
I have never seen it anywhere else. Someone recommended checking a well-stocked independent hardware store, but I can't find it locally where I live. Maybe, just maybe a hobby store but I doubt it.

They have every gauge you could possibly need and they offer the more popular sizes in spools of 25, 50, 100 feet. Well actually you can get a 13,000 foot spool of 28ga. for under $600 but that might be a little bit of overkill.

It will most likely never be available on a retail level direct to consumers, kanthal and it's cousin nichrome is an industrial wire used for heating elements (among other things) and as such has very little consumer level use.

Check out your local hobby shop, they usually carry nichrome wire. It tends to be a lot more expensive than ordering kanthal wire online, but it does work really well. Be carful on how you wrap your coils with it, as it tends to result in lower ohm coils than the 28g kanthal i have been using. I actually prefer the nichrome. Just tell the person in the shop you're looking for resistance wire or wire used in a foam cutter. Good luck
As most people have already stated, Temco is definitely the best buy. All gauges and lengths available at the best prices from any retailer. They also do free shipping.
If you DO order from Temco.....Order from their eBay site....I'm told they tend to ship faster there than on the Temco website....
