I don’t know if this applies to any of you, but some folks have the TAC and find 21700’s aren’t fitting. If you have access to a Dremel tool and some sanding drum bits, this is an easy fix and shouldn’t take more than about 30 minutes. If you’re not comfortable attempting, it’s obviously best to leave it be.

With bats removed from the mod, remove the switch assembly by unscrewing the three hex screws. test fit your 21700 batteries with the correct polarity to see where the binding starts, and begin sanding from the binding point toward the switch end. Most of your sanding effort will focus at the switch end as this is where the most metal will need to be removed. Work a little at a time, checking fit with your battery after every couple of minutes of Dremeling to see if it seats. Once you’re comfortable with the battery fit, thoroughly clean and reassemble.

Some of you may be like “Thanks Captain Obvious”. However, others may not be as DIY inclined, and may benefit from a gentile nudge. My point here is that it’s a really easy fix, and if you really want those Golisi 21700’s in your TAC, you’re gonna have to remove some metal, and that can be a scary thing with a new mod.

I would add that after performing the minimal required metal removal, your 20700’s will still fit nice and produce no battery rattle.

Have no fear. It’s an easy fix.

I should add, Squid Industries has stated they will continue to honor any warrenty should you decide to perform this corrective measure.

You and I clearly have different vaping styles lol. I’m pleased as punch to be getting a full day out of two 3700 mAh cells

...and Squiddie DB is feeling forgotten, so a short TAC interruption for some DB/Kabuki porn. Rocking 9W and taste buds are ALIVE. The battery meter hasn't moved in 'bout two days either.

For the non-FB'ers...

Amazing (IMO).

You do realize that, that really does not mean a whole lot, when his devises only have a 14 day warranty. :?: I have not had any problems with mine, and I should have another DBL barrel on Saturday, but that warranty and all sales are final, is not the kind of customer service, I expect from am American company. :glare:

I think you'll be fine if you have any issues, KAS. I've seen zero indication that they do anything besides stand behind their product.

Worry not (unless it's simply a predetermined outcome).

...and for what it's worth, there doesn't appear to be a tremendous amount of things that can go wrong. The (chip & functionality) design is very similar to the BB Rev 3s, which were known for their almost ridiculous durability.

Occam's Razor.

I agree, for the most part, but changing that statement on their website, would really go a long way in my book. :|

Or don't worry about it, and have confidence that you're in good hands.

I am sorry to be the one to bring up the negative side of squid, this is just one thing that tic's me off. Don't get me wrong I love the devise, I can't wait to get this 2nd one. As an american I value a good warranty, and good customer service, I guess I am old fashioned that way.
