OK, so I have a serious question. Wait, does "If a tree falls in the forest and no woman is around to hear it is the man still wrong" count as a serious question?

No that's not my actual question, I'm just trying to get a handle on the definition of serious. My question is this. If Scrappy (the pup to your left) sleeps in the big person bed tonight with daddy, and mommy isn't around to know about it, will daddy still be in trouble tomorrow?

Now that I think about it that really is kinda the same question.
I think the puppy was confused about what beds are for. If I sit on the couch, he'll lay in my lap and sleep. If I lay on the couch, he'll curl up beside me or lay on top of me, and sleep.

Letting him have the rare treat of sleeping in bed with me though seemed to mean he thought it was time to keep licking me so I would wake up. So, yeah, that didn't last long before I kicked him out and made him sleep in his own bed. Of course Pam only lets him in our room so that he can wake me up if I'm taking a nap, so that probably explains it.

On a semi-related subject, would it be considered bad manners to 'encourage' my kids to hurry it up with the babymakin'? You know, maybe buy them baby clothes and toys and things like that for birthdays and Christmas instead of their normal presents?

Or maybe I should be more subtle...maybe some artwork for their homes, possibly Anne Geddes prints?

Ahh, Emily Post would likely not approve. Guess the furry kids will have to satisfy me for now.

Missouri...or the state of Misery.
@Kodak's movie list this afternoon prompted a funny memory. One of her watch over and over movies was Pirates of the Caribbean. I went by myself to see that movie in the theater so I could drool over Johnny Depp the entire time and no one would see me. When the DVD came out, I was first in line to buy it. Watched it quite a bit. When me and my ex husband split, he took off from work one day knowing I was at work and the kids were at school to plunder the house of quite a bit of stuff that he thought I held near and dear to my heart. One was my Pirates of the Caribbean dvd and the other was my Dremel set. HA! Imagine his surprise when he went to watch it and find that the dvd was messed up because I scratched it! My daughter gave me a new one for my birthday and I had the locks changed! :D

Now that's funny lol! I'm on my 2nd DVDs of the entire set and I got smart enough to burn them to my backup drive so I don't have to use the DVDs anymore :D

While I love my grandson with every fiber in my being, my daughter should have waited until she was at a better point in life. I know she wouldn't want to change not one moment in her journey but does realize now that she should've waited. :)

My oldest son is an Ultra Liberal. He has been living with the same wonderful woman for 5 or 6 years now, and I too am without Grandbaby. He's a UAW "team leader" (that's a nice hybrid of the old Union Steward, that now works WITH the company too while hoping to achieve the UAW's objectives AND the company's) at his plant, and just received "Member at large" at his plant, which is quite a distinguished election. Anyways, I'm thinking of going to his house and pinning Bernie Sanders lapel pins to all his lil foil packets. It's "for the children". :)

Yeah, truthfully my son and dil probably should wait a little longer, though I've heard from a little birdie they are actually talking about it. Lately I'm actually looking forward to grandkids. Daughter, despite being younger, is probably more ready to be a parent, but she and her fiance have goals they want to meet before they think about it, which is a good thing. I never figured she'd turn out to be a long term planner though.

Good morning Krewe! Oh, Happy Friday!!!! I hope you are all splendid, especially our long weekenders!

Seems the habit of going to bed at 4am, waking at 8am, that I acquired in Daytona and continued with a lil adjustment in Minnesota, has taken a truly firm grip. Ah well, it's my natural rhythm I think. Time to get some coffee and fight a lil for Roxy.. Free Roxy! :)

Hahaha... when they hit 18, you think you have them figured out and you don't really like what you see. You wonder if they've been listening at all. IF they can make it to 21 before doing anything truly dumb, and start getting some sense, you get to watch all those things you taught and told them, start taking hold within their own terms and individualism. It warms the cockles of the heart, no? :)

Being a grandparent when they don't live with you(my daughter just recently moved out) is the BEST!! When they live with you, not so much!! :)

And all of this reminds me of an ongoing "battle" I've had with my half sister since we've both had kids. I'm more of a guiding parent, she's an iron glove parent. She has continually critiqued my parenting skills. My kids aren't perfect, however hers are and never do anything wrong because of "her" consequences. Ok so I have a daughter who had a child at 21, unmarried and I have a gay son, yep! Not perfect. Imagine my joy when she told me the other day about finding used condoms under the mattress of her oldest son in her house! Especially since she has forbidden him to have his girlfriend there when she's not home. I rolled my eyes and thought hmmmm....not quite so perfect after all!! Lol

LOL....I have a ex-friend like this that told someone that me and the hubby were "crappy" parents because we allowed our oldest daughter to get her tongue and nose pierced and let her get a couple of tattoos....Well, I can say (unlike her girls) that my girls have never tried to sneak out of the house, never drank, never smoked something they shouldn't, never did anything with boyfriends in our house, never tried to run away from home, and never partied...Did I mention that her girls have done all of the above? Who's the crappy parent? Really don't think it's me and the hubby :D

Wife # 1 was 19, I was 20, and we were only married for 3 months when Jeff was born. And I was a Preacher's Kid!

Haha... I chose the "Iron fist in a velvet glove" method. I'd prefer to give the soft caress, but go ahead and do something beyond the pale, and taste the metal. :) God knows when they are being good, and working hard in school, I spoil em rotten. And when they under perform to their abilities? Oh yeah, all that is dear to them magically disappears, and the rules get not only enforced, but tightened considerably. They figure it out quick enough, that the tough love part is pretty much done with at an early age, with rare outbreaks just to remind em. :)

Lynn, you actually ARE kinda tough too, on your kids. 21 is not a disastrous age to become a Mom by FAR, and gay and perfect aren't mutually exclusive either. I know that YOU know that, but I can feel you validating the fencepost gossip derision of others. You know what to do with that, F em! :)
