Bwah ha ha ha ha.... I remember seeing the results of this in the fountain on Engineering Mall at mah Alma Mater. Never had the guts to do it mahself. Did go swimming in a fountain one night (the Psych Pool, it was called..... Hrmmmmm Coincidence?)

I pop over to steam-engine every once in a while to check a couple of things, and I wrapped two coils today with 28g 316L wire. S-E says that for my target resistance, it would take 9 wraps (1 ohm, 3mm ID) I wrapped one at 6/5 and another at 5/4. The 5/4 was about 1Ω; 6/5 was about 1.2Ω I can never seem to get S-E to match what I'm building. I checked my build on a couple of mods and my ohmmeter - they all rang out similarly. What am I doing wrong with S-E?
Heya.... I was expecting subohm, but for mah OCC heads, 0.8-1.2 is OK by me. I was thinking SS would net lower Resistance than kanthal
Yessir. The legs will be longer. I think markfm has a point about adding leg length, which I usually don't factor.
When I plugged about 1/10" per leg, it landed where I ended with my actual build.
I will rebuild one of my RDAs tomorrow. Shorter leg length, by far, should confirm

yah - got a couple things done and some lollygaggin
got some playtime this evening - rewicked my 13 heavens and twisted messes atty's, put new builds on new aromamizer (dual fused claptons - 26g kanthal cores with 32g ni80 wraps) and griffin (dual ss claptons) and got them set up and running - had to rewick aromamizer, though, as first run was a overly snug and got crunchy on me, lol
i know when i do my occ rebuilds, i generally do a dual parallel coil wrap with the 28g (8/7 wrap, mebbe? would have to check notes) though that is with kanthal (and i do some ni200 ones for BIL)... need to try a SS version

Awww.. Sorry fam. I got notice from my original vape mentor, of need to converse. Not only do I owe him the respect, he is a FASCINATING guy, and a super contributor and elder (in the member sense, not by age). As is par for the course, turned into a 5 HOUR convo. Guy knows his stuffs, and is now a reviewer on a high profile site. SO much to discuss, especially since these prizes have allowed me a broader perspective of what's out there.

First try on the French press was nice
The capresso infinity does a beautiful job on the grind, using the middle coarse setting. Very consistent, few fines.
A blend of full city yirgacheffe with city Kenya. 24 ounces more or less (MK 1 eyeball measurement) in the carafe, brought to start of boil in the microwave.
Cooled for a minute, added the coffee, wooden spoon stir at 30 sec and the top went on.
At 4 minutes I did a slow press and we got awesome, rich, coffee

Everyone and anyone who has made the King Kake v2...does it make any difference if you use Cinnamon Danish instead of the Cinnamon Danish Swirl?
i can't help but think so - i tried early versions with a couple different cinn danish types and settled on the swirl as the best of the bunch

I like cinn danish swirl a little better. Have both. May make one with std and one with CDS to compare....
i want to say the original gangsta king cakes - v1, v2, v3 used cap cinn danish swirl, tfa cinn danish, fw cinn danish (not necessarily in that order) and the cap cinn danish swirl was a pretty clear winner but your results may vary - that is the joy of taste, lol - it's in the eye-tongue of the beholder-vaper
