That was the hardest part when we were going through it with my grandma. She had multiple surgeries, each time the Dr said it was gone, then a few months later, more would show up.She really didn't want to go through Chemo, but she gave in to pressure from the family, and every day you could tell she was just miserable, but the thought of losing her was so hard that most of the family, especially my mom, just kept pushing. She did manage to make it through a few more years, but in constant pain, before she finally said enough is enough.
I hope i am never in that situation because i know i would not have the fight in me to keep going, and knowing i let my kids down by not trying would be the hardest thing to deal with, but i just could not do it.

Yep, I know exactly what you mean. My wife has been through two pretty intense surgeries so far, and they say that surgery is no longer an option because the tumors are spread out quite a bit, they are in the right lung, several in the chest wall, and more in the tissue around the liver. Chemo is really the only option, and none of it has worked so far. She's been on seven different chemo meds...
I'm right there with ya. I can be stubborn as a mule, and fight like hell when the need arises, but I don't think I'd have it in me to keep goin' down this road if it were me. I'd give it a shot for a little while, but I know that I don't have enough fight in me to do it day after day and year after year... I'm very sorry to hear about your grandma. Having to witness it, myself, I would not wish this on anyone. And I wouldn't wish for anyone's family to have to witness it either. Cancer is a very cruel disease, and most of the time, the treatment isn't any better.

@Kaezziel this is for your own good!!!!

Hahahhahaa!! Yeah, I probably needed that... I need to get off of here and go get some work done this morning.
:lol::lol::lol:

Oops moment already this morning. Colton had an ortho appt this morning. I thought it was at 8:30. We get in the car at 8:20(the office is 5 minutes away), I look at the appt card and his appt is actually AT 8:20. And being the bad mom that I am almost considered letting him drive hisself to the appt. :|

Meh... close enough to the appointment time that they won't give ya a hard time about it. I've yet to see a doctor's office that runs on time anyway... we wait on them enough; they can wait on us from time to time. ;)
Hope the appointment goes well, Sweet Pea.:wub::wub:

It is what I am here for. Trying to get the labor day weekend in the right direction for everyone. In which I am happy to say, HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT LABOR DAY WEEKEND!!!!!

You too, Brother! I plan on sleeping through Saturday, if I can manage it... I think I've had a grand total of 8hrs sleep in the past 3-4 days. It'll be nice to just completely relax for at least one day, then I can get some work done around the house for the rest of the weekend. Still need to get back to work on the half-bath... it's about half torn apart right now.

Hopin' to sleep in a bit this weekend. However, "sleeping in" means only 'til about 7:00-7:15 most of the time.... :sneaky:

We've had PERFECT weather here the past couple of days. Highs in the upper-70's/low-80's and NO humidity. Opened windows and doors yesterday and let some FRESH air in. Perfect sleeping weather....

Did all that yesterday. I had an appointment in DC that took all morning. We got up at 0400 to go to a med appointment. Without traffic takes 1 and a half hours to get there. Well add in the DC traffic and it takes 3 hours. Fun for all. Had to get my foot checked on for after surgery checkups and now I am nervous that I may be medically separated for this. It is healing in the right direction it is just taking its sweet time. Still a lot of pain right now. I have another appointment on Tuesday to see where my military career will be headed. Hopefully they will keep me until my 20 year mark, but I do not know. It will be interesting. I have 18 years as of November. Needless to say a bit worried now.

Appointment went great!! No more sling, no physical therapy and he basically can do whatever he wants except lift anything heavy. Another appointment in a month and then he'll be completely free from the ortho. We still have to deal with neurology though.

All of you that will be sleeping in and off work for 3 days, think of me while I'm working for 2 of those days. ;) I'm not complaining mind you, as I'm a firm believer in the more you complain, the more life gives you to complain about. After seeing what a 5 day paycheck looks like and a 7 day check looks like, as bad as I hate the fact of working 7 days, the money looks pretty good! Lol

Praying that they work with you, Brother. You'd be better off if they'd let you have an early-retirement package instead of a medical discharge. It isn't unheard of to get full retirement at 18 years, but it is usually for rates that are overcrowded, to make room so that others can advance in paygrade. Best of luck, and if they start pointing towards medical discharge, maybe you could set up an appointment with your XO to discuss other options.

Awesome!! :D:D:D:D:D Now we'll just keep fingers and toes crossed, praying, and sending all the positive energy that we can muster that neurology goes as smoothly in the near future!:wub::wub::wub::wub:

happy friday, all! :)

And a happy Friday to you, Brother, with the best of wishes for your Labor Day weekend! :):):)

I'll keep fingers and toes crossed for you too, Brother. Prayers and best wishes that they do right by you. Just don't stop at COC if things don't go your way. The XO draws a paycheck for a reason... and that is to manage personnel. They are usually more than happy to meet with you if you schedule an appointment. I had a good long sit-down with mine before I got out to discuss possible career paths if I were to reenlist, and he was quite friendly and helpful in going through stuff.
