hello. I have a kayfun clone and I was just testing waters and use an ego coil to use on my kayfun. I have 5 wraps and one ego wick. on 6 watts I get good flavor but not much vape production. obviously I was just messing around and do NOT plan to leave it wish just one wick and suck a tiny coil. im using it on an itaste mvp 2. any suggestions to coil size and wraps for max vapor?

on 6 watts

Never going to get "max vapor" there. You already know you're going to need a better wick on a good coil, but you're going to have to turn the wattage up to get there as well. If I remember correctly, you're using an MVP, so try getting closer to 11. Heck, I don't care about clouds at all and I vape around 8 normally.

If you're really just after clouds, how you inhale and exhale can make a huge difference as well. Take big lung hits and then try to let the vapor just fall out of your mouth instead of blowing it out.

And somebody who hasn't read your other posts is going to tell you to buy a mech mod and a dripper. Don't listen to them - you're not there yet. You need a lot more knowledge before you try that route in order to do it safely. If you make a mistake on your MVP because you don't know enough yet, you get an error code. Do it on a mech and you could blow your face off.

Keep reading and learning here and you'll be in a big enough cloud that you can't see the screen with your Kayfun and MVP.

Forgot to recommend a coil - try 30 gauge wire on a 1/16th inch drill bit. 8 or 9 wraps should put you right around 1.8 ohms. Wick it with cotton. Getting the cotton right is the key - once you get that down, you'll get a lot more vapor than you're used to. Most people find they have to use a lower nic level because of the increase in vapor.

yeah, I understand I'm just trying to figure out what guage wire and how many wraps would be best for my kayfun. I bought an ohm reader and ive watched serveral videos and studys on coil building. I was just seeing if I could build a practice one and fire it off real quick so see what how it worked when vaping. all im really trying to find out atm is how many wraps and wire guage I should be using for my kayfun. thanks

using this method, would I get more clouds with an itaste mvp and a nautilus aspire? 1.6 ohm coil? it vapes great and has nice clouds im not complaining. lol just trying to step it up slowly

The Kayfun will DEFINITELY get more clouds this way than your nautilus. Like I said, crank up the wattage, too. Your Nautilus will burn juice long before you get to 11, but a good Kayfun build can handle 11 nicely, and you'll get a lot more vapor.

What's the PG/VG ratio in your juice?

In my experience the kayfun is not really a cloud generator. It does give a really coolish flavorfull vape, but there are much better toppers to chuck clouds.

I tend to run mine a little higher now than I used to as it seems to give me more flavor. I run 1.6 - 1.8 ohms at around 9 - 10 watts. I've found that my 30ga actually gives a slightly better vape than using 28ga. so 1/16 drill bit, 7 wraps of 30ga should hit 1.6 every time.

I generally agree with you, but if he's comparing it to a nautilus, I think he'll see a big difference. And if I hit it right, I can still pull a pretty respectable cloud out of a Kayfun.

50/50 atm. I understand if I use more vg I will get more vapor. right?

Right. For the most part, more VG = more vapor, more PG = more flavor. A lot of the big cloud chasers you see on YouTube are dripping no nic, no flavor straight VG when they cloud chase.

Kayfuns ( design wise) are flavor machines, ,not really designed for clouds due to the air tube/centerpost restrictions. 30-28 ga wire is a good size to use, it allows for coils to be constructed in the 1.0 - 2.5 ohm area and not be too large as to where they get difficult to become a problem. I prefer the vertical setup with lots of cotton :)
