Possibly, if you build your coil around 2.0 ohm resistance, nothing lower. Battery life will probably suck.

I don't recall the amp limit on a standard eGo battery, but my guess is it is only ~2.5 amps. Some eGo's had trouble firing just some 1.5 ohm factory-made coils.

You do know that a kayfun Lite is going to look pretty ridiculous on an eGo battery, right?

I figured it would look weird but it will only be for a few weeks. I was looking at getting the ego twist just for the few weeks, would that battery work much better?

It's safe yes, but you might want something with a little more power for your kayfun. Just my opinion. Is your ego variable volt ? If yes you might try giving it more voltage. In my experience with the kayfun you need a little wattage behind it for it to perform as it should. Also check your resistance when doing your builds because I'm pretty sure most egos have a cut off at around 1.2 maybe 1.3 so your builds would not be able to go lower than that. You might want to search up your particular device and see what it's cut off resistance is so you can know. But to answer your question, yes it would be safe. However you might consider getting something with a bit more power to run your kayfun at optimum performance. Hope this helps you out. I know the kayfun works well with variable wattage devices. Not sure ego would run it very well. You can give it a try and see what you think. If it's not giving a good vape it likely needs more power. Best wishes.

You might want to try something other than a ego. Maybe a box mod? Ipv2 50 is a really great newer box mod you might consider. If thats too much maybe the dna 30, or even the mvp2. Hope this helps

You will love the taste of the kayfun!! Loads of flavor! You won't look back once you try it! Make sure you get a ohm reader so you know the resistance of your builds. Vamo , I believe can go down to 1.2 not certain though, mvp can go to 1.0 for certain, I've ran 1.0 when I used a mvp2. Have fun and enjoy! Be safe. If resistance is too low with these devices they won't run the atomizer. So know your builds by checking your ohm reader. Hope this is helpful.

Shouldnt be a problem. I have a kayfun mini in dripper mode on an ego. Just be sure to keep the ohms above I believe it's 1.3ohm.

My eGo Twists will not fire a 1.3 ohm atty. 1.3 ohms draws 2.5 amps at 3.25 volts. so if it does fire, you'll only be able to use it at the lowest voltage. Standard non-VV eGo batts are 3.4V or 3.7V, so you're out of luck. I suggest 1.7 ohms minimum which will give you a little leeway.

Thanks for the help. I'm looking at getting either the mvp 2 or the vamo v5 in a couple of weeks so I'll just use ego until then. I've only ever used the standard clearomizers, so I'm hoping all of this will be a step up

Oh, it's a step up for sure! In the mean time, keep your coils in the 1.8-2.0 ohm range as Bad suggested, and have a charger at the ready. I use old EGO batteries to dry burn coils all the time. Good luck, and welcome to ECF!

I thought 1.3 was their lowest. Guess not. I know my eGo Twist fires a 1.5ohm coil. Its a Joyetech tho so maybe they use different batteries in their branded ones. Never went lower tho.

I found out I only have a 650mah ego battery, would that still be safe to use?

Absolutely... and a 2.0ohm coil on a kayfun isn't going to drain your battery any faster than a 2.0 ohm coil on any other atty... The battery store "power"... Power is a factor of voltage and resistance (i.e. wattage).

In fact, believe it or not, but a 2 ohm coil (30awg kanthal) wicked with cotton and running at about 10 watts (about 4.5 volts) is a build I actually enjoy a lot on a kayfun.
