in the first picture are the wick tails laying on the wick deck or are they coming up into the chimney? its hard to tell as something is broken with the first image.. thanks again for the post!
They are laying on the deck. What I have found works the best is to position the tails where you want them and pinch both of them together with one hand and then slip the chimney over them and screw down. Ready-x is hard to bend really tight and makes it hard to tuck them on the deck after putting the chimney on. Just noticed I need to straighten that coil before I fill and use it again. I drained and cleaned tank to take photos and must have screwed up the coil while torching the wick. If it gives you any idea how well the wick cleans up the juice in that tank was "Custards Last Stand" from Nicoticket (Dark, Sweet, and Delicious!!!)

I have the tobeco clone latest edition which looks a lot like the black and silver edition. I had dry hits off and on.. I took it apart for cleaning and did a little vacuum test and found it would not hold a vacuum. I put a piece of Teflon tape around the airflow screw and no more dry hits. I use 100% vg so I need the all the help I could get... Hope this helps some!!
Is that the black edition clone? I read through this whole thread and there were a number of complaints about the juice channels being to shallow. It doesn't look the case though

Thats a known problem with tobeco clones unfortunately. Hit or Miss.I bought 2 of these black editions. One has nice deep juice channels and worked like a dream from the start. The other one had shallow channels that didn't connect. It gave nothing but dry hits until I took the dremel and fixed the juice channels. It seems to be the luck of the draw with these.
Isnt the "Silver edition" tobeco as well?So is there any clone/version, from any vendor, that always has the correct, non-shallow juice channels? My "black edition" has shallow channels. My stainless steel KFL plus from fasttech has shallow channels. The "Silver Edition" (which happens to have that matte gray finish, which I like but doesn't really compliment any of my mods, but whatever) has the "right" channels and works GREAT.
yes the EHpro has deeper channels just like the real one heres a link to the comparing thread by SpazmeldaSo is there any clone/version, from any vendor, that always has the correct, non-shallow juice channels? My "black edition" has shallow channels
