KayFun Lite plus V2 airflow question

If I unscrew the airflow screw on the bottom of the tank, will it scratch my ProVari's base? Also, I'm inclined to take it out completely, but am concerned it will lead to leakage. As an aside, would anyone know why vaping a1.9 ohm coil at 4 volts cause juice to burn. Any help for an obvious Noobie? Thanks so much!

I removed the airflow screw on all my kfl v2s without problem. The burning sounds like a wicking issue. There is a lot of good info in this thread:
