So, I got a brand new protank and a Vision VOT VV (which has a terrible battery life but that's another topic) to replace my ViVi Nova and ego that got ran over by the bus. First day I burned both coils, never exceeding 4.2 volts. I tried to dry burn without success, so I went straight to recoiling it and using cotton because I had the materials already. I'm using 4 wraps of 32ga kanthal around a 2mm jeweler screwdriver, which on my ViVi usually ended up around 2.1-2.2ohms. I don't have an ohm-meter, I just tested it on a buddy's provari. My first try I let it soak for about 2 hours, and ended up with a great vape. Beautiful clouds of vapor, great flavor, just amazing. Couldn't be happier. After about 2 days of use, it burned. Not sure why, but it did. So, I went ahead and did another. After soaking, it burned instantly. I've repeated this with various thicknesses of cotton, recoiled several times etc. with the same results. I've also been trying to do the same things with a kanger mt3 that I told me friend I would loan him, and it's also been burning. At first, I thought the wicks were too fat, so I thinned it out then it flooded. I added a slight bit more, and it wicked right but burned. None of these attempts have produced as much vapor as it did when I made that first coil. Any suggestions?
