So I broke down and bought a KFL+V2 clone from ehpro. Watched a ton of videos and built some decent coils. Took me 3 tries but finally got one mounted.:( How the heck do they make these things look so big on the videos? Anyway, put it on my vv V3 to check the resistance and I get NON. My MPT2 works fine with it. Is the center pin on the KFL 510 connector adjustable oris there something else I need to do?

I was shooting for a 1.7 ohm coil and was going to check it on the vvV3. Don't have an MVP. I guess I can try screwing it donw tighter but don't want to screw up the vv V3.

Oh .. mini protank 2. Sorry, I misread that. Screwing down harder probably won't help and could otherwise cause other toppers not to connect properly. Do you have another mod you can try it on?

My EHPro v2 the pin does protrude ever so slightly past the threaded part of the 510 connection. It does almost look flush, I had to put a strait edge on it to check. Have you tried pulling up the center post of the battery slightly? Innoken products are well known to have deeply set 510 positive pins.

I Was going to say mine didn't til I put a straight edge on it. I guess it does.

Things are going downhill quick. Kayfun still won't read or fire on the vv V3 and now the MPT2 reads NON but will fire intermittently. When it doesn't fire, I get a 888 in the window followed by 1 = 1. The = sign has an extra dash. Have tried to lift the pin but don't see anything moving. I did it once before and thought there was a thin foil like contact on top the pin that lifted. Am I imagining things? Any ideas are appreciated.

Typically when I get non it's not because of anything with the center pin. It's typically that my coil isn't high enough resistance to read in my devices like provari or mvp2 or vamo. I know it sucks, but try building another one. I've learned now that when I build them I don't cut the excess wire until I put it on my device and see what the coil is reading. If it's too low or lower than I want, I add another wrap to it. But, my 2 cents is if you are getting non or it's not reading, check the coil. It's either too low to read or it's touching something on the deck.

Headed back uphill. With the help of a buddy, tweaking the deck alignment (that I screwed up) has got the KFL firing. Now to figure out what's going on with the vv V3. I need to make it last another week or two til I can get my hands on a DNA 30.

Yeah, the deck alignment is something to keep an eye on. If it's too loose, it can turn in such a way that the positive and negative decks are touching each other, which is a short - the electricity just jumps across that connection instead of going through the coil.

I put the KFL on a provari and it reads fine now after the deck alignment. Still get a non on the vv V3 but can vape both the KFL and MPT3. I'm thinkin the V3 might be on it's last leg.

That's exactly what was happening, the + and - were shorted.
