Ok, I"m new to this, but looking forward to getting my first rig. I ordered a KGO(Elite Vaporworks KGO Starter Kit with Boge LR Cartomizers - KGO), which I should get later this week. So far, I'll I've tried is one of the BLU disposables...

My question is, when I read the forums, they are so confusing. It sounds like you can miss and match parts and create a device that meets your personal needs/wants. That sounds great, but I don't know what mods I can do to the KGO and what the impact of those updates are. Can someone clue me in on some of and mods available for this and what the benefits/changes are for the mods?

Thanks so much,

s

It's not really mods. It's just that, like many other devices with a 510 connection, there are lots of options for a juice delivery system. The KGO is just the battery. You will need an atomizer, cartomizer, clearomizer or tank system of some sort to turn juice into vapor. And you'll need some juice.

There are lots of posts on this forum and lots of youtube videos about those items and their pluses and minuses. Do lots of reading. My advice is to get a couple of low resistance atomizers for sampling juice, buy a 5-pack of the Phoenix LR bottom coil tank/clearos here: GotVapes PHOENiX™ Bottom Coil XL 1.5ml Cartomizer 2.4-2.6ohms [gv-PHOENIX-XL-2.4-510] - $11.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

Try a Vivi Nova tank (you can buy it at the same website as above).

You will figure out what you like and what you don't like. It takes some experimenting and some trial and error.

Oh, and buy some drip tips. You will need them if you use atomizers or cartomizers.

The version you posted has cartomizers (cartos) which combines an atty with wadding/filling to store juice. Nothing wrong with that.

The tank you posted has 808 threads, the kgo uses 510. Also I am not a fan of dual coils on a kgo (not enough power IMHO) but if you want to go try it just make sure it has 510 threads.

As for delivery systems, well I am sold on the ViviNova. Hands down the best tank/clearo I have used thusfar. Some people dont like em, but I am a HUGE fan.

I use the KGO with boge LR cartomizers and have found it not worth the time or effort to try to find that elusive perfect vape with the clearomizers or tanks. The boge LR just keep on giving a good consistent result, without a lot of fiddling around.

See what I mean about trial and error and finding what works for you? I prefer the Vivi Nova tanks, but others prefer regular tried-and-true cartos. Neither is right or wrong - simply different preferences.

Another piece of advice, whatever you cartos, clearomizers, tanks, atomizers, etc. you buy, make sure they are Low Resistance (which usually means around 2.4ohms or less, but DON'T buy dual coil anything.

Also, the KGO uses a 510 connection. When you order cartos, be sure they are 510 (and not 808 or some other thread pattern).

Thanks so much, I didn't understand what all the different numbers meant before or exactly what I was getting. I read the forums for days, but I didn't notice the "infozone" on this site until a few minutes ago (duh). Based on the recommendation below, i picked up this GotVapes PHOENiX™ Bottom Coil XL 1.5ml Cartomizer 2.4-2.6ohms [gv-PHOENIX-XL-2.4-510] - $11.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more for sampling. There are a couple of vape shopes in town and it seems like that would be helpful.

Is there anything else you guys think a newbie should keep in mind?
