On the KGO battery product page at Virgin Vapor, they recommend a protocol for a new battery. Eight hours on the charger, use for 20 min, charge for another hour. Anyone have any insight as to whether/why this is beneficial?

Also, vaguely related question: On the Hoosierecig product page for a KGO, they advise against using a Joye charger for a KGO battery. But, based on other stuff I've seen, it seems like the reverse (KGO charger I got from them on a Joye battery) is ok. Can anyone confirm?

Appreciate all the info in this place. 38 days off regular cigarettes after well over 20 years ...

As far as conditioning I would not follow what Virgin Vapor recommends. It is a Li-ion battery and should be drained before putting on the charger for the first time, and then allowed to charge to completion without interuptions.

There is nothing wrong with using a Joye charger on a kGo battery, the only difference between the eGo and kGo is that the kGo is unregulated. Joye released their eGo Upgrade batteries which allows users to switch between regulated and unregulated. When I say regulated I'm referring to voltage. A kGo at full charge with put out 4.2 volts and step down to 3.4 volts based on battery charge. The eGo in regulated/standard mode at full charge will put out 3.3v from 100% until the battery shuts off.
