Is there a thread dedicated to the kgo and different mods to be had regarding that unit? Whats the cheapest way to get more kick out of my kgo or do i need to move to a different unit? What's the best ohm to use that'll give me the best vape and keep my kgo safe. I got 1.7ohm single coil XL cartomizer but I feel I could be doing better(i watch videos where they puff for a couple seconds and there is a huge exhale?) . I feel that may be the missing puzzle piece. What about atomizer for dripping?

ps: I got my kgo from dark city vapors is there a difference compared to hoosier?

Thanx in advance...

Why is that?

I am using the KGO "Mustang" model with atomized cartridges. I like the taste and all, but am I missing something by not using LR cartomizers?

Low Resistance (LR) atomizers and cartomizers will provide a greater amount of vapor, throat hit and warmth. They can diminish the flavor a bit and will drain the battery faster than standard atomizers and cartomizers. If this is not for you, you can still get regular resistance cartomizers. One of their advantages over the atomizer+cart combination is that they hold more liquid.

Vaping an eGo or Riva beside a KGO you'll notice a marked difference. Here's a thread - last post is most current: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ego-type-models/187735-slb-ego-kgo-1100-a.html

You might call Dark City Vapor and ask if your KGO is an SLB brand (original KGO manufacturer). I'm sure Hoosier and Breezesmokes.com are SLBs. I've purchased other items from DCV and they were the real deal, great service. The juice you're using determines the amount of vapor. Higer VG makes those plumes. You should get nice thick vapor at 30%VG. I prefer dripping on a LR atomizer 510 or 306 for a warm to very warm vape. It's personal preference. There are 1.25 LR cartos now. Whoa. That's a warm vape :) Nice your KGO can take whatever you throw on it.

What is a KGO Mustang model? Love to see a pic. Low resistance supplies simulates high voltage vaping. It's a warmer cigarette-like experience with a stronger hit. I believe that's why KGOs are so popular. They have higher voltage and the battery hits the same all day rather than dwindling performance. To answer your question - yea, you'll get a warmer, harder hit with LR supplies.

I like the KGO, but my impression so far is that the vapor is all in the draw and the liquid. I can pull impressive vapor with a 2ohm BOGE cartomizer, but the throat hit is a bit different than even lower resistance cartomizers or dual coils. I need to grab some 1.5Ohm dual coils, I think that going lower might void the warranty on the KGO, but I don't know whether that's a manufacturer or vendor-specific warranty stipulation.

I don't think that replacing the batteries will run too much down the line. However, I've been told that if your batteries start to heat up, switch batteries and use the other one until it cools down. This will make sure you don't damage your battery if you do use a lower resistance dual-coil cartomizer, like a 1.25Ohm.

....Especially if you take long, slow pulls of vapor repeatedly like I do.:vapor:

I have used a 1.25Ohm on one of my batteries, and that was before finding that out.

The battery seems to be just fine.

The flavor change and temperature of the vapor shifts quite a bit between 2 and 1.25, but slow draws can produce quite a bit of vapor... To me, it feels more like puffing pipe tobacco and inhaling the puff than smoking a cigarette, and that's why I wasn't getting good vapor at first; I was trying to "smoke" the vaporizer.

I got almost zero throat-hit from "chocolate" and "coffee" type blends, but a significant amount from tobacco-esque ones.... guess that also depends on who your blendmaster is!

So my 1.5 ohm dual coil cartos came in today and they are amazing compared to the 1.7 single coils i was using. I can only assume that the 1.25ohms dual coils are even better. Am i right in that assumption? It's pretty amazing that i can take a little drag off these dual coils and get a decent throat hit. When i take a long drag i get a crazy throat hit. Using my single coil coil 1.7's i literally had to take the biggest drag my cheeks could hold to get a good hit which is ridiculous and made my connection hot?

The 1.5 ohm dual coils have 2x3 ohm coils working together. That's why you get mover vapor and better TH but the vapor and the carto itself is cooler.

I get this with the 2.0's, but it only seems to warm up the cartomizer unless I do it repeatedly.

I will definitely look into the 1.7's and 1.5 dual-coils.

Glad you're enjoying it :) Very nice when it all comes together for a good vape day. Hoosier sells the 1.25 ohm cartos and KGOs. I believe he recommends them together. It is a very warm vape. Not my thing with sweet juices but very nice with tobaccos and non-sweets. Happy vaping.

It is an 1150 mAh with 510 thread and manual switch. I am having a problem posting a pic.
