Ok, new poster but I've been reading quite a bit on the site. I quit smoking but on the weekends years ago, but the e cig thing has turned into a fun hobby. So far I can only say that I these where available 12 years ago, it would have made quitting sooooooo much easier. I really enjoy these things and am not that concerned about the health risks.

I just got my third starter kit, I've been happy with all of them so far but this one has me scratching my head. I bought a "Riva 510 - Carto Deluxe" from Liberty Flights, my second kit from them. My first was a Riva 510 kit, and I though this one would be also. Anyway with the new kit the batteries are almost the same as my first Riva kit but they do not have the Riva name stamped on them. Also the manual (instruction book) that came with them is labeled "KGO". Second the feel of the manual button is different but I'm not concerned about that .

So here is my question, what do I have? Do I have a newer Riva or a KGO? Based on a little searching I found that the KGO is different, it appears to be a 1100mah battery vs the 750mah that is a Riva. Are these as good as the Rivas?

Should I be irritated that I didn't get what I thought I was buying? I'm not trying to slander Liberty Flights, they have great prices and fast service, I'm just wondering what I have and if it is good as my Riva from them that has been very with to this point.

Blue, I also got my new "Riva 510" kit today and it's a KGO. Looks almost like the Riva, and if I didn't already have a Riva, I wouldn't know the difference, but the finish is different, the button is different, and the threading is a bit rough. And, of course, it doesn't have RIVA engraved on the connector.

I'm also not too bothered by it, as long as it performs like the Riva (I just finished charging the batteries, so I'll know soon), but I do think it should be sold as a KGO, not a Riva.

I have also had excellent service from Liberty Flights, and their prices are great, so I'm not trying to slam them.

Oh, and I also can't stop trying new juices. I have about 60 sample bottles, and every time someone mentions a flavor or vendor I haven't tried, I'm pulling out the credit card. But I'm having fun, still spending less than I did on cigs - after factoring in start-up costs - and not smoking.

BTW, Liberty Flights VG Cola is my new favorite juice - clean, strong cola flavor, not too sweet, light enough to not get overwhelming in chain-vape mode. Sample is almost gone. Must order more.

In the last two weeks I have ordered 2 of the Riva 510 Lite Bundles and they have both been Riva's. Now, I have noticed that the first time I ordered they only had pink & black and the last time they only had the black left. I wonder if they are switching to a different model/brand?

Did you also order the Carto Deluxe version MsTick?

Yes, I also got the Carto Deluxe version. I got the Lite Bundle on my last order, and wanted cartos this time. The Carto Deluxe version is definitely not the same battery, and not the same quality as the Riva. The KGO has significantly crappy threading - one battery is not too bad, it's just difficult to screw on the carto, but the second battery has crooked threads and the carto will not go on straight, and stops about 1/10 inch from being flush with the top of the battery (though it is making electrical contact).

I don't know a lot about the Kgo. Everything I have heard says it's not as good a quality as a Riva or eGo. If Liberty Flights sold you a Riva and you got a Kgo, I'd contact them about it. I need to point out that Liberty Flights is a reputable vendor. I've dealt with them several times and I have no complaints. I had one problem with a bad Riva battery and they were very responsive making it good. To me that's the true test of a vendor. It's possible that the Kgo got substituted upstream from them. If that's the case, you'd be doing them a favor letting them know.

My first kit, the one I think is a real Riva had "Riva" stamped on the gold metal portion of the battery.

I know mine I just got in today doesn't have anything "stamped" on the collar or the end for that matter, but this is my first e-cig, so who knows...A person in the live chat say it should be Riva based on the color of the collar.

jlg, the Riva has RIVA stamped on the outside of the connector. How is your new kit performing? My complaint with the KGO is that the threading is very rough and, on one of my batteries, crooked. The carto is hard to screw on, and it attaches at an angle, so the cone won't fit, and it just looks bad. But they both work.

Having already purchased a Riva starter kit, I was expecting the same quality, and was disappointed that I didn't get what I bought.

Well, aside from this not having any stamps anywhere, it appears fine. The only issue I have seen is the threading was rough, but that has since worked itself out. The batterys are straight, the cartos screw in just fine, and attaches evenly. This was my first kit and first true e-cig, and aside from the manual being goofy (says KGO) and the case saying eGo, I just figured the case was from a different set, and the manual wasn't ever updated (have seen that before with manuals for other things).

Ok, Liberty Flights go back to me with an explanation. It looks like they are just an older model. Wierd that they had KGO instructions with them though. I'm not going to pursue it further, I believe it when they say they will stand behind the product if I have a problem. Most posts I see about Liberty Flights are positive. I'm sure I'll continue to use them.

From LF

"It is a Riva. They are just from an older batch than the new Riva light bundles. We had run out of cartomizers, and were unable to sell them.

There are some cosmetic differences, but the Riva's in the carto kits seem to hold up better than the others, over the course of their lifespan. Either way, they have the same warranty, so you're covered.

Let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with."

Yes, I also heard from Ty today, and he offered to replace the one battery that has really wonky threading, but it still works and I hate for anything to go to waste, so I think I'll just keep it - even wonky e-cigs need to be loved by *somebody*. And I also placed an order this weekend for 30ml of LF VG cola. LF has been good to me and I will continue to order from them. But Ty also said he would take a look at the website and consider adding a note about these being different from the other Riva kits so that people don't get the same "huh?" experience we had.

I tried over 100 juices from many different suppliers and enjoyed only two of them. Gosh, the money I wasted :( Arrrgh. But it's still better than smoking real cigs.

Things I learned on my juice quest:
1. 50% off juice is not a great deal if the juice sucks
2. Smaller is better. Buy tiny samples 3 to 5 ml
3. Buy top-sellers only no matter the reviews. We all have very different taste preferences
4. Read the posts from long-time vapers to learn what they're vaping.
5. Check the classifieds. What juice suppliers do you rarely see for sale and when they are, the juice is snatched up quickly?
6. If you're at a high mg and plan to step down in strength buy accordingly in small quantities

I found two suppliers that work for me.
1. KickBassVapor (KBV) is probably the most talked about juice on ECF. I ordered 7 bottles and will re-order 6 of the 7. Their juice beat everything I have tried by a country mile. Heaven!! :) There's a (very) active KBV forum here on ECF.
2. FreedomSmokeUSA. Ordered from their top 10 list and all but one if a winner for me. Hope you find your sweet spot quickly with suppliers you enjoy! Good luck :)

And one more thing, how it the world do you stop yourself from trying new e liquid..... I can't seem to stop ordering more of the stuff even though I haven't even come close to killing even a 15 ml bottle.... I'm can't seem to get tired of trying different watermelon or strawberry flavors from different vendors.
