Just got mine earlier today... pretty much a mini version of my Lavatube... in fact, might be slightly more powerful at 6V, don't have a in-line meter on me, but it seems to not have the same drop under voltage that I occasionally get with the LT.

What is the ohm rating of the cartos are using with the KGO VV?

Any low ohm or dual coils?

I posted this in another thread on the KGO VV, but should have put
it here instead:

Presently, I have a dual coil tank on a 5v pass through with overall
resistance of 2.5 ohms (5 ohms each coil). It vapes fine and cool, but
the power on each coil is below the sweet spot.

My PT is limited by a 2.2 amp source. Dropping to lower resistance
decreases overall power (and voltage) due to current limitations.

So I'm wondering if having a KGO VV battery hooked up to the power
supply while vaping would help provide the amperage necessary to
increase voltage/current with the 2.5 ohm setup, or to power a dual
coil in the 1.5 to 2.0 range at 5 volts.

I'm basically wondering what the amp limit is, and if that is lifted at
all by having the unit plugged in with the pass thru charger.

OK. One more question that's been bugging me.

How does this...

18650 1500mah 3.7v IMR Battery

Deliver 6 volts?

Capacitors, maybe?

Just curious.

Anyone? Anyone? Buehler?

ETA: I just realized I got this KGO confused with
the new tube mods that use the other batts.

But the question still holds. The KGO self-contained
battery is just 4.2v on full charge, right?

Hey CanuckGod, in the pic with the twist, what is the mah of the twist?
Also, now that you've used the vv kgo, how do you feel about that firing button?

1. The eGo Twist is the 1100 mAh model.

2. I actually did try it a bit before I posted my info on it, and I'm still not a huge fan of the button. It's kind of underneath the silicone ring just below the eGo threading.. I can get it to fire without an issue, but occasionally if I don't press it just right, it doesn't register the pressure correctly and thinks I did the 5-click shutoff so I have to turn it back on... if I didn't just spend $35 Canadian for it, I'd consider somehow opening it up and seeing if I could replace it with a more solid metal button. That being said, it's a minor gripe for a beauty of a PV and if you love the Twist, you will worship the Kgo VV/Ego-V/whatever it's being called this week.

3. As for the poster asking about battery life, I pretty much keep it at 6 volts, being my work vape stick (Lavatube takes over at home), I'll usually take 15-20 longer drags per hour on an 8 hour shift, and probably 20-25 on my trip back home from work; when I get home, I'm usually at about 2 bars on the charge indicator (out of 4), so about half the charge left... probably somewhere about 1.25 to 1.5 mL juice used, so one could guesstimate based on your usage how much you'd have left; I'd say I'm a moderate vaper while at work. If you do have USB access, it will work even while running via passthrough, so bonus there.

I generally have a 3 ohm Boge carto on there (with Chibi tank).. unfortunately, not being pbusardo, I don't have an oscilloscope, so I can't give you actual values, nor can find out if there is a amperage limit on the unit. At this point, all I have is my own observation, that given the VV charged to full, and a full battery in my Lavatube, the VV seems just a slight bit higher in kick versus the LT; as I'm using a 3 ohm carto, I'm assuming the amp limit (if there is one), is at least the 2.5A the LT is, so it wouldn't hit the amp limit in that situation for either mod.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds encouraging.

I went ahead and ordered the KGO VV this morning... plus a 1100 mAh
"Passthrough" KGO since the price was right.

I feel like a traitor to my beloved 808, but at least now I should be able
to play around with some of the dual coil stuff that needs more power.

Thanks again!

I've been using mine for about 4 hours now, down to 1 bar. As for the "new low profile button" I don't really like it. It can be hard to find if you're in a dark room, like when watching TV. And although you can lock the voltage + - buttons the display will still come on when it's in your pocket. Wondering how much battery power this will use up. Despite all that I still like it. It is much easier to adjust than the twist and it just feels better. Maybe I should have just bought 1 instead of 2 ? We'll see I guess...

If you look over at Taste Your Juice .com Phil Besardo's web site you will see a eGo 14500 VV in his device review. So I am sure Joyetech is already well ahead of your thoughts. My question would be to the current owners of the Kgo would be battery life. I use a eGo Twist 1000 mah every day At around 4.2 Volts. I can usually expect 10 - 12 hours of vaping or around 3.5mls of juice with a SR Boge cardo tank. With the 650 mah battery in the Kgo what are you getting in hours of use at what voltage. I hope everyone is enjoying there new toys.....

A 14500 Ego VV is available at Welcome to FreE-Cigs.com - Live Free
They also have a 600 mah VV passthru very similar to the KGO VV, but it has a normal fire button and puff counter (not sure if the KGO has this). They are out of stock on the passthrus right now but you can also get those at Welcome to Happy eSmoker :).
I ordered one the 14500 VV's and am probably going to order one of these passthrus soon.
