It’s been awhile since I’ve done a review, but I’ve always meant to get back to KickBass Vapor. I have purchased these goods at full price with my own hard earned cash, so no freebies or comps from any supplier. KickBass vapor offers e-liquids at a max of 60/40 VG/PG. While this is a little more PG than I normally care for, I purchased their products with the understanding that this is how they blend their e-liquids and that some flavors will cover what I personally consider to be too much PG in an e-liquid. If I still taste the PG knowing how a vendor blends their formulas, well, that's what happens when you roll the dice.

A little bit about my vaping experience. I’ve purchased hundreds of flavors from different vendors over the years. The vast majority of them have received a thumbs down from me for a couple of reasons. (This is much to the delight of my vaping friends BTW, because it means they just inherited free e-liquid. And hey, free vapes rock.)

I cannot tolerate even a hint of artificial sucrose flavoring. To my palette, that flavor is downright gross. This cuts the majority of toffee, fruit, and candy flavors from my e-liquid repertoire. I’m not much of a fan of high PG flavors as PG tends to taste sharp and chemical like to me. And finally, astringent flavors like black liquorish are a big no-no. The chances of me vaping that Mad Murdock's Pluid is slim and none. ;) I’m a pretty sensitive taster. It’s not convenient, and it’s certainly not cheap, but that’s just the way it is. Throat hit doesn’t matter to me, so unless it knocks my socks off, I’m not going to even mention it. If you know of someone who has a similar taste profile, please point them to my reviews as it may end up saving them a ton of money and much frustration.

My vaping gear is pretty simple. 650mah eGo fat battery with a 1.8 ohm EVOD clearomizer. Doesn’t get more pedestrian than that. My all day every day vape switches between Boba’s Bounty from Alien Visions and Malty from Backwoods Brew. I was a huge ECOpure fan before they messed with their formula, but alas those days are over. :) These are flavors that have been around for years and have a fairly non offensive and no artificial sweetener flavor. I vape them because they are easy and reliable, but I’m always on the lookout for something that will make my taste buds say ‘wow!’

Enough about my flavor profile and PV. On to the review.

KickBass has a pretty loyal following here on ECF. While the company has had timely order taking issues in the past, it seems to me that they’ve made it through their growing pains and placing an order was simple and delivery was quick. Service was what one would expect from ordering online. Automatic updates on shipping were provided and they were accurate. Easy transaction.

Waffles - 60/40 VG/PG mix @ 6mg nicotine
I’m not gonna lie, this is pretty tasty stuff. Lovely blend of maple, butter, and waffles. You can imagine yourself sitting at the breakfast table pretty easily with this one. Unlike some maple flavors out there, this one doesn’t even have a hint of artificial sweetness to me. It’s nicely done. The only kicker on this for me, personally, is that I can taste that PG bite. If the e-liquid were offered in an 80/20 VG/PG mix, I would purchase again without reservation. BTW, the room note on this is really pleasant. Might make stealth vaping hard, though. ;)
Purchase again? No, but they start offering this in an 80/20 mix and I’m all over it.

V-Spot 60/40 VG/PG mix @ 6mg nicotine
I’ve been chasing the dragon on a truly great, clean, light and authentic vanilla flavor since I started vaping. I’ve tasted such a beast once, and then that company folded. Ever since then the vanillas I’ve vaped have been pretty lackluster in general. I do not know what flavoring company KickBass uses, but this is the same ole same ole. I know lots of people dig this flavor, but it tastes just the same as a dozen other vendors I’ve purchased from. It’s more like vanilla custard to me and that slight ‘cream’ after taste is just not for me. It does get bonus points for absolutely no artificial sweetness, so if you’re sensitive like me to that Nutra Sweet type flavor and you like custard, this could be great for you.
Purchase again? No.

White Wabbit 60/40 VG/ PG mix @ 6 mg nicotine
There are two types of people: Those who love coconut and those who are wrong. This is advertised as a coconut cake. Sign me up. It lives up to its description. This is like taking a bite out of a sugary white coconut cake with that white fluffy frosting that makes you feel like your teeth are going to fall out but you don't really care because: Coconut!
It’s a nice facsimile of its target flavor. It’s sweet, very sweet, but not in that chemical kind of way. The PG content is a little high for me to overcome, but I’m hoping if it steeps for a few weeks that the coconut will bury that sharp note and I can enjoy this one from time to time as the mood strikes me.
Purchase again? Probably not, but ask me again in a few months. I really want this flavor to work out. Like seriously.

Maple Frosted Rolls 60/40 VG/PG @ 6mg nicotine
This is alright. Tastes like it should, although it is perhaps more of the convenience store variety of frosted roll rather than a homemade one. Has some nice maple top notes with natural type sweetness and some gooey pastry in there. Flavor is subtle enough that I’m still catching some PG notes in there. Again, if this were an 80/20 mix, I’d personally dig it more.
Purchase again? You know, this is one of the few maple flavors I’ve had that tasted nice and genuine. I didn't like it at first vape, but it grew on me. I’m going to steep this one in hopes that the maple strengthen over the next couple of weeks to cover the PG flavor.

Monkey Bread 60/40 VG/PG @ 6mg nicotine
Extremely buttery like the homemade baked good of the same name. The cinnamon is used sparingly and it seems to me that there’s some maple in there as well. The sweetness is nice. Again, I cannot overstate how cool it is that KickBassVapor doesn’t have that artificially sweet chemical saccharine mess going on in their e-liquids. I get no PG taste from this one at all. That’s awesome. This is not an all day every day for me, but a nice treat from time to time.
Purchase again? Yup.

Chocolate Cake 60/40 VG/PG @ 6mg nicotine
I need to stop chasing chocolate flavors. They just don’t work for my palette. This one has that same burnt flavor that most vendor’s chocolates have to me. (The other variety is the type that tastes like dried cocoa. It’s ok, but it’s not chocolate.)
Purchase again? No.

Café Latte 60/40 VG/PG @6mg nicotine
I like coffee vapes, which is funny because I do not like coffee. This one is good. Nice creamy notes with a medium strength coffee flavor on the inhale. Naturally sweet exhale that my brain wants to call vanilla flavored but I'm not sure that it really is. Not bad at all. No PG bleed over on this one either, so bonus points. Coffee flavoring really does kill the PG bite in any e-liquid.
Purchase again? Yes. There may be better coffee vapes out there, but this is solid.

Vape Placcid 60/40 VG/PG @ 6mg nicotine
Inhale is a sharp mix of anise and punch of methol/mint cooling. The mint element reminds me very much of their Peppermint Ice Cream flavor. Exhale is a general nut flavored Dekang (or similar type) tobacco. If I had understood that the anise top note would be so prominent I would not have purchased this.
Purchase again? No

So there you have it. KickBass rightfully has its fans. While some of the flavors are not for me, they do have a nice line of quality product with no artificial sweetness. Wish they had higher VG/PG ratios, but that’s just me. What do you think of their flavor offerings?

What would you suggest on steeping for kbv? I ordered a bottle of sweet tart and it was unfortunately unvapeable for me. I've never steeped before, do you have a suggestion on what I should do?

I know different folks have different methods. Basically all I do is is store the capped bottle in a closed drawer for a few weeks. I don't bother to uncap as it seems to me that various contaminants such as dust or dander could get into the e-liquid and the thought of that kind of skeeves me out. If an e-liquid can't balance out after 2-3 weeks in the drawer enough for me to enjoy it, it's very likely that nothing more can be done. I chalk it up to lessons learnt, give it away to a friend, and move on.

Nice reviews. Thank you for taking the time to write them.

I've tried only a handful of flavors from Kick Bass Vapor but there are more in my future. I liked the Gooey Better Cake but I grew tired of it and did not reorder any more. KBV's Jamaican Ginger Mint is one of my all time favorite liquids. I think it's safe to say that it's my second favorite liquid among everything I've tried so far from any vendor. I've already reordered it once and will keep reordering it indefinitely.

I'm not all that far away from KBV so I get my vape mail from them the day after they ship it which is great.

That Monkey Bread sounds good. Gonna have give that one a try for sure.

Nice reviews. Thank you for taking the time to write them.

Thanks SnowDog!

I used to do reviews pretty frequently here but then life got busy and I hadn't done any for quite awhile. One of the reasons I review product is because you read and see so many positive reviews out there. When I started vaping, I ordered all kinds of e-liquids based on positive reviews and I thought the vast majority of those purchases tasted like garbage. At that time, no one was talking about flavor profiles or mix preferences and how certain ingredients could cause a negative taste reaction in some and be preferable to others. The mantra then was that everyone has a different experience and just keep buying until you found what you liked, Very few people were trying to isolate specific ingredients and then spread the word to other vapors about which e-liquid companies used X,Y, & Z ingredients.

Now it's pretty common to find folks discussing ingredient content. It's also pretty common for folks to refer a vapor with certain flavor preferences to other ECF members who seem similar in tastes. The more info that's out there for new and old vapors alike, the better the chances they won't go back to the cancer sticks. This is my way of giving back to the ECF community which was so helpful when I started my vaping journey. Thanks for reading!

Thank u for your reviews, no one talks much about kbv anymore. Not sure if ppl got tired of the whole open, nope not open issue or what. I am really glad u know what "sharp" tastes like! Lol, I don't know how many times I have tried a juice and thought that, but I have never seen anyone else describe it that way. However I had not considered that it was pg, and I hope that is what it is, if it turns out that way for me it could be a game changer! Thank u for that. I have tried most of the ones u reviewed, I never tried vape placid and I have white rabbit steeping right now. My favs from them are Carmel cookie, maw, waffles with extra butter, birthday cake, and any of their ice cream or shake flavors.

In almost 3 yrs vaping there is only a handful I have ordered from, they are one of them.
Thanks for the reviews! I'll be following u since we have similar profiles, I hope u don't mind. I am always looking for a new juice or great vendor.

Thanks Lethalp!

My mini e-liquid review is linked in my sig line. It's like an at a glance list of my flavor/ vendor preferences.

I'd be super interested to know what your all day every day vape is.

My next review will be from Vapor Chef. I've been spending some time with a big chunk of their collection, and I've got to say, I've been pleasantly surprised by their blends. They offer 80% or better VG content, so no sharp PG bite to their e-liquids. While I don't dig all of Vapor Chief's collection, they have more hits than misses for me. When I actually get a little time to type out my review, I'll be sure to post it here. Thanks for reading. :)

Nice review! While I love KBV, I was actually not a big fan of the White Wabbit. In fact, I haven't found a coconut flavor from any vendor that I like yet, despite being a big fan of coconut flavor. I found that WW, like other coconut ejuices I've tried, has a musty, almost bitter taste to it. I also didn't think it was very sweet at all, and ended up mixing in some Custard's Last Stand to make it more vapeable to me.

I've tried lots of flavors from KBV, but none of the others that you reviewed. If you want to try a real winner from them, I recommend the Pineapple Shake. If you like pineapple, you will most likely be wowed by it like I was! It is definitely in ADV territory for me.

Thanks BooBoo888. :) I very much like real, fresh pineapple. Not at all a fan of canned, dried, baked, or candied pineapple. Do you think KBV's pineapple tastes like a fresh one?

I would say yes, but with a touch of creaminess which balances out the tartness, and a bit of a cooling sensation (not menthol though) .

However it's hard for me to understand how someone can strongly dislike canned pineapple but love fresh pineapple since they are very similar - so maybe I'm not the best person to ask

To me, if the canned pineapple is cold, the only real differences are the texture (with canned being slightly mushier) and the slight residual metallic taste from the can. I can assure you the juice has no metallic taste, and the texture is obviously a non-issue, so I think you may find it quite nice - worth a try anyway?

If you like bakery flavors, their Gooey Better Cake is delicious IMO, and seems to be a popular favorite. Rich, baked goodness that goes great with a cup of coffee! It kind of reminds me of those cheese filled coffee cakes from Entenmann's.

I have some KBV Hidey Hole Punch (Hawaiian punch), Refreshing Cantaloupe, and Marion Berry (? LOL) Ice Cream on the way. I kind of OD'ed on bakery flavors, so I've found myself currently on a bit of a fruity kick - excited to try these 3 :D

It's not only the metallic taste that I don't like, but the syrup they pack it in. Sorta like the difference between a fresh orange and those little plastic cups of oranges they sell. Totally different to me. I like the fresh stuff, but the canned/ prepackaged stuff is just not my preference.
Ironic, since I'lll take canned corn beef hash over fresh any day of the week, but that's a totally different discussion. :)

I have vaped KBV's Ice Cream before. It was pretty accurate except that I couldn't quite wrap my brain around 'warm' ice cream. You may really enjoy it, I know many do.

Ahh, ok. I am pretty sure the canned pineapple I've had was always packed in pineapple juice and not syrup, so maybe that's why it tastes better.

I've tried their peppermint ice cream before and it was really nice, so I'm hoping I'll like this berry version when I get around to trying it.

I gave the Hidey Hole Punch a try, and it is not quite what I expected. It's vape-able, but I'm hoping it will improve with time.

The cantaloupe on the other hand was yucky to me - very disappointing. I don't like cantaloupe to eat, but neither do I like watermelon, and I loved their Cool Watermelon juice... so go figure.

Both the punch and the cantaloupe juice were completely clear, which was kind of strange and a bit off putting to me. Maybe these two just need to steep??

Their fruit shake flavors are wonderful! I have had pineapple, blackberry, and raspberry, and greatly enjoyed them all. They weren't candy like or fake tasting to me. I had never tried an ice cream vape when I tried kbv. It ruined me, lol. Not sure if it matters but there is no, cooling, koolada, or menthol in them. So u are right it is weird vaping warm ice cream, but man that's some good stuff. I don't have any either.....darn, now that's going to cost me, lol ;)
