So I've been having this issue with my Kick: often, even with a fresh battery, it'll go into the dreaded pulsing (low batt) mode after only a few minutes. Generally I've been able to resolve this by removing the batt and re-installing, but today it really bugged me so I called the factory for enlightenment. Turns out the waterproofing compound used in manufacturing doesn't always get completely removed from the battery-side contact. The fix: sand down the contact area with steel wool or other fine abrasive. Problem solved.
