What you guys need to understand concerning power is that mah (milliamp hours) is not going to give you more voltage its just a larger capacity battery. Some vapers volt at higher voltages to increase TH and Vapor. This can also be done by using a LR (low resistance) atomizer to achieve similar results. If you need me to explain more on volts , amps, ohms just let me know.

I'm really new to all things pv as well, but from I've been able to understand so far is that bigger batteries = longer time between recharging AND... (now this part I may have misunderstood, one of the techies around here can correct me if I am) I believe that the bigger the batt and the more mah heats up the atty more, which in turn, delivers a warmer vapor.

As far as being "safe" - I would assume they are. There's literally thousands of vapers and a lot use huge batteries in Mods they or someone else has built and I've yet to hear about an e-cig-related death. :)

I have a question on the electronics side. Most batteries have a drop-off voltage as they discharge. A freshly charged battery will give ~3.7 v. An hour of use later, it can be as low as ~3.2 v (I'm guessing on that number based on my experience with batteries). Some higher capacity batteries have a more linear drop off so that they remain at a higher charged voltage longer as compared to the lower capacity batteries. The measured drop off varies based on the type, construction, and quality of batteries. My question on batteries is if this effect is noticeable in higher capacity ego batteries?

It can be noticed slightly right at the end. That has been my experience. Otherwise I have found EGO batteries for the most part to be fairly consistent from start to finish. At least with your regular 510 attys.

I bumped up my eGo with a LR atty and it did perform much better and I did not experience any problems. That being said, there are some other folks who have had some problems related to the LR atty and there is a thread somewhere on here from a supplier that brings up that point.

I used both my 650 and 900 mAH with an LR atty.....I have since moved on from the eGo to a mod.

Be well

Ok, so it seems the LR atty is the way to bump up the eGo's performance. By safety, I refer to some posts I have seen regarding LR attys frying batteries...Does a larger battery work better with a LR atty, etc?

I'm currently vaping *as I'm typing this* an eGo LR Mega atty on my USB 650. MUCH more vapor and TH than a standard atty. No problems since I got it last month. Same atty too. Though, using it on both of my 900s significantly drained them faster (2 - 3 hours, moderate vaping, fully charged). It did produce a little more vapor and TH, but not noticeably more than to consistently use it on my USB 650 which will last 8+ hours on a full charge.

An eGo type battery runs @3.2vdc. It is regulated and will maintain 3.2vdc till shutoff (it's uses PWM). A larger eGo type battery will only last longer, hence the larger milliampere hours (mAh). To "kick it a notch" go with a LR atomizer, or a CE2 type cartomizer in the 2.4-2.8Ω range, or maybe the eGo-Tank, or the ego type A or B atomizers/cartridges (in LR also). If going to a LR atomizer, I recommend dripping. There is a risk to the eGo type battery with a LR atomizer because the mosfet may not handle the current draw and blow. Unless you are talking battery life or time between cartridge refills, if you want to kick it up a notch, you may want to consider a real 3.7 (or 5v/6v) mod with at least a 16340/14500 battery.

OK, definitely interested in the LR atty. Has anyone compared the performance increase with a debridged, non-LR atty?

Yes. In the long run, I find debridging increases leaking out the bottom of the atomizer. Also increases the action of dripping. I like LR atomizers over debridging a regular atomizer. Course this is very subjective and YMMV.

@jplanet. I would suggest looking around. It depends a lot on what you want. Some don't want the big battery mods, well because they are big and don't want to be seen in public with them. I would suggest things like the icon, chameleon, provape, screwdriver, Super-T P16, or such... some like box mods also... like the wetbox, or reo... It is very subjective on taste as to what you want aesthetically, how much you are willing to spend, and finally what you wish it to do (juice fed, Variable Voltage, etc.) ... All not necessarily in that order. I would suggest looking at this page Best e-Cig Mod List | e-Cig Mods Database seeing what catches your eye and then come back to discuss.

Edit: I would like to add. I use an eGo type PV every day when I leave for work with a CE2 R4 cartomizer on it. I also have a Leo (which is another eGo Type) and have two Riva kits enroute. The eGo type setups are nice PV's for out and about. I have a bunch of mods, but mostly use them in the car, at my desk at work, or at home. I just don't like carrying something I can't carry in my shirt pocket or pants pocket easily cause I ride a M/C a lot.

Thanks for that info! I have my eyes on the ProVape, and will be looking forward to the Infinity when it's available. I notice that some juices perform much better with the eGo - my Johnson Creek juices provide barely any TH, but the VaporStation juices I have right now provide a wonderful hit. I think my strategy will be to try to get my money's worth out of the eGo for a little while, perhaps try an LR atty for just a bit, then perhaps take a look at the ProVape and Infinity - maybe I can hold out until the eGo tank system becomes available and see where to go from there...

Sounds like a plan. Good luck. And yea flavors will be totally different on different atties and @ different levels of heat. For example, I LOVE redbull @6v on a regular 510 atomizer. It is all bubbly and tingly, almost like drinking it... However @ lower levels of heat (IE 3.2-3.7v) on that same atomizer, it is to sweet for me. Course again that is the RedBull I have, another version may be totally different.
