I had just ordered a new 510 atty last Monday and already its dying.

No flavor making it through, just like a moist cloud of flavorless vapor that I can only describe as un-pleasurable. It bubbles and pops, I'm desperate for a reel fix, but can't get one. Thankfully have another atty arriving tomorrow and would really love to see it last more than a week.

I have 4 dead ones sitting around and all attempts at cleaning have failed miserably.

Am I drowning my atty by overfilling?
I read that take 10-15 drops and then you can top off.

But all I'm ever doing is topping off, because I can't vape any of that crap that falls to the bottom of the wick.

Occasionally it floats on the top and initially that produces the best vapor, but I assume that's killing them faster than I ought to die.

Thoughts?

Your problem sounds odd but not too uncommon. With you cart wet but not overflowing and 1 to 2 drops on the atomizer is all you should need to be on your way for about 3-4 cigarettes worth. Less is undeniably more with e-cigs.
You shouldn't be going through this many atomizers.
Its good to see that Janty is still offering their 6 month warranty on atomizers.
My suggestion is to try a different supplier. :)

sounds like you could be flooding your attys. notice any wet stuff on the body?.

It overflows often. I was going through a lot of leaking problems and then it suddenly produces zero vapor.

A couple of drops is used up in 4-5 big hits and then I top off again.
But after a short while, it'll spring a leak.

I figure I should also take off the cartridge when not in use, so it doesn't get saturated.

1-2 drops on a 510 is enough for me, for about 4 big hits and that's it

on the atomizer yes. It could also be that your cartridges are the real culprit here.
Try stopping by your local wal-mart or hobby shop and picking up 100% polyester batting.

when ur atty does that, you need to take it off and set it on a napkin cartridge end down. let it drain over night, and in the morning blow hard thru the battery connection end......you made need to top off every other time you vape but thats normal... then only fill a cart until its wet, but NOT pooling on top. Then, you should have a happy atty---top off often when it gets dry to not have a burnt taste, but do not pool the top wjuice. drain the atty every night this way and should last a very long time. carts just dont feed the juice after a day or so like when theyre new....Happy Vaping! :)

Also, do this with ur old atty's, it may fix them..

i did the same thing. don't forget to check between the atty and battery on both connection ends. the battery (inside) will be wet as well as the threaded end on the atty. using a napkin you can make a little tip to soak the juice from the battery and just twist the atty (threaded end) in a napkin to soak it all up.
you'll be surprised how much liquid is there. your 510 should spring back to life in a couple of puffs.

When you top off your cart, there is no need to add extra juice directly to the atty. That's one thing that's probably causing your flooding issues.

Start from scratch... take off your atty, put some tissue inside of it, and blow it out from the battery end. Repeat this until you don't get any more liquid out. Then fill your cart until the top is wet. With a dry atty, I usually go ahead and let a little bit pool on top of the filler. Reconnect your device, then gently tap it battery side down on your palm a couple of times. Now vape away.

When the cart starts to get dry, top it off. Don't put too much in, the top of the cart should be saturated with no juice pooling on top. Don't add more juice to the atty. Replace the cart and vape away.

When I am chain vaping, a cart will last me 30 minutes before needing to top off, and the flavor and vapor is consistent the whole time. It usually takes me 5 or 6 drops to top off. Every 3 or 4 pulls, I'll tap the battery end on my palm a few times, this forces a bit of juice from the top of the cart to the bottom.

Just my $.02
