One of my cartos shorted out and killed one of my two eGo VVs... I'm really sad and just sharing my misery, since this batt is no longer on the site, and I really, really like them.

I guess the eGos are not protected against shorts. I put it on and no vapor came out, but the end of the batt heated up like a stove. When I tried to use it next, it started lighting up all of its LEDs at random patterns. So I figured it's not sane anymore and I won't touch it again lest it blow up on me or something.

And so a 1 dollar something carto killed a 20 dollars something batt, which I can't even replace. This sucks. I'm grateful for my Provari, which is protected against shorts.

Waaaaaaaah... :(

I've had batteries get shorted out also. I meter all my carto's out first...don't know if it helps to do that but I do it anyways. Sorry to hear this and hope that gotvapes gets them back in so you can get another one.

That's smart. I am going to order a meter today. They are dirt cheap. I don't know why it didn't occur to me to check the cartos for shorts before putting them on batts. I was just thinking in terms of checking working resistance, and I do that on the Provari... Of course, when I saw the batt heating up like that, I immediately new it was a short, checked it with the Provari (knowing it's protected), and yeah, got that "special" error code. I feel like an idiot, frankly - I should have spent the ten bucks on the meter. Gah...

I am looking forward to a new ego VV. I bought 2 & 1 died after 1.5 weeks, I don't know why (I don't use LR either).

Mine died after an hour. It was the VV eGo pass-thru. I already had a non-pass-thru VV eGo, and it has been solid. Luckily, they are just for backup now. I pack everything for work and put my Infinity Pro in my laptop bag. So, I use the VV eGo after it is packed. I can't wait to get the replacement because that is the one I am going to use after packing my bag and pack the non-pass-thru for a backup in case something happens to the Infinity.

a very special vv new ego will be part of the gotvapes family soon.

That's great! :) Are they going to come only in a kit, or will we be able to get them separately? Will they have all the cool LEDs? Will they come in that cool rubbery black finish? Will they blink at me? Can you tell I'm excited? Hee-hee...

Will they have an "off" setting? And, yes, please the cool black finish! And soon.

I love my VV eGo's. They've been working great, but I broke one - I did something dumb and pulled off the connector - easy enough to fix, but the wire came loose and I don't have a soldering iron that will fit into that small space. I haven't been able to decide whether I prefer fluxo's (the current leader) or Vortex or Visions (just got my new ones today, they might knock fluxo's of of front-runner status), but when I got my first VV eGo, I knew that they were keepers.

ok, no black, these are stainless only and a special series, no worrying about anything coming apart, the button changes color, no ring led which is the main issue, no led indicator, nothing that can screw things up essentially, these have 4 settings and since 4.2 isnt maintable in a ego the highest is 3.9 but it stays at 3.9 when chosen. these are also 1300mah

no pin issues either
