Killing my Cartos

Should I stop using the cart if you taste burnt carto? Can you refill the carto if its gotten to the burnt stage? or are these toast?

I just found 2 more cool carts that I have run into burnt taste. Right when I get to like them they go burnt on me.

If it's the burn taste, not the burnt marshmellow Chesterwiz sir, I would suggest not refilling it... You're asking for a leak, and that taste doesn't come out...

M'Dir, if I fill a cool cart with Wow Nuport juice, will it taste like the Wow Nuport or the Premium Nuport? To me there is enormous difference in their flavours. Do the Wow juices work ok iin Cool Carts?

I've opened a new pack of Wow Nuport this morning, and so far no problems, but I am being more careful not to chain vape today.

I regularly use Wow juice with coolcart blanks. Completely mix and match. It is the juice that provides the flavor....not the cart.

So the flavour is the same as wow Nuport? Hmmm. I don't want to get into refilling if I can help it.

Anways, I think I got a batch that were under-juiced or dried out. I realised I had a carto in my carry case from an earlier batch, vaped that all today. It didn't get hot or burnt, gave out very peacefully just before dinner. So have opened a new pack and the 1st carto is getting hot after 2 puffs, though not burnt yet. So I think I just got unlucky. I bought 6 packs at once, looks like 1/2 of them were affected by this problem.

Juicing will save you quite a lot of money Ms. Katz, and allow you to use the cool carts on wow flavors and vice versa.

Did you remove the soft cap to see if the center tube might not be aligned properly?

No, I've been trying to avoid the whole idea of juicing or looking at any internal stuff.
However, I'm starting to get desperate now, as my supplies are running low now because I'm getting through so many cartos. I have just bought a bottle of glycerine, which is BP. It is all I could get here, google tells me BP means complies with British standards, whereas USP means US standards, so I am hoping that is safe. And a syringe, though no needle, that'll be intersting.

I will try a couple of drops in a carto and see what happens. Fingers crossed !

Hey, it worked!! It wasn't so elegant as it could've been if my syringe had a needle, I just dripped a drop of glycerine on either side of the carto, left it standing for a while.
And I've enjoyed 3-4 (not constantly) hours of burn-free, hotspot-free vaping. Yay! Even outlasted an XL battery and didn't burn when I put on a new battery. So thanks for the suggestion MK, as well as others' ideas.

Hmmm. First raising posts on cartos & batteries, now my first steps into doing stuff to the inside of cartos. I do not want to, but may have to reconsider my no refilling policy.

I do not like prefilled because of this reason, I also notice the prefilled gets well, a marshmellow taste, I usually vape my cartos until there is no flavor no more, and then refill it. I would waste so much money with prefilled.

Haha thank you, I learned that saying from Ryan aka bornagainstvape, He told me, if I am going to to this whole vaping thing, I should refill, better flavor that way, and you save a .... load more.

I am so pleased it helped you Katz! I forgot about the BP vs USP..it's safe! Did you get clouds of vapor?
You do need to learn to refill, if only to stop the burny stuff! You really must have run into a batch of short fills!

Thanks MK, yes, addictive clouds of vapour! Mmmmm. My only problem now is having burned through so many cartos, will be scraping through to my next delivery. Being Easter, we don't get postal delivery again til Wednesday (Monday night here now), so I shall again be vaping, everything I have. And I didn't order any Wow Nuport cos I thought I'd still have lots! Ah well, we live & learn. I am seriously considering ordering juice next order, and some blank cartos. In fact I have today bought syringes with needles, so looks like I am already starting down that road.....

I received my 5 WOW tobacco samplers and 5 WOW menthol samplers on Friday. I am burning through them too fast again. I am left with 4 now. I was worried I will not have any left by the time my order gets here ( still processing after ordering at 1 pm pacific today).

I went to Walmart and picked up glycerin USP. Mixed some with a little water to thin it and dropped it (2-3 drops) on all my used carts. We will see how it goes. I see a difference on 2 so far. Cross fingers.

One thing I didn't see mentioned in here was that batteries do burn hotter right off on the charger. Generally, a 808D battery operates at 3.7 volts. However, right off of the charger, they tend to run at about 4.2 volts, which, depending on your carto, might give you a burned taste till the battery drops to normal operating voltage. It's also why at the end of a battery, your vape gets less hot and flavorful, because it usually falls down to around 3.2 volts at the end.

How long a battery performs consistently at a particular voltage is a function of it's construction and regulation...

Edit: Refilling isn't hard at all. Can save you a ton of money too in the long run. Cartos are generally good for a lot more runs than a single fill...

Actually Wilydodger (sir or Ms.?) that's been mentioned many times before. The king diamonds stay above 3.7 longer than the older models but they only drop below 3.7v near the very end of their life cycle. The regulated batts made by a couple other companies are the ones that stay at 3.6v....
