Kind of undecided on nicotine strength

I smoke a pack of Camel Wides a day, planning to buy an e-cig kit Wednesday, either the DSE103 or the M401, but I am kind of clueless on which strength to start off with, and each e-liquid site has different terminology defining strengths. Vapor Options says 11mg/ml (the strength I'm kind of thinking of starting on) is "Medium" while Wet Your Stick is "Low." And, every site has widely varying strength level names, just like what clothing size names are, lol. (For instance, some brands' X-Large is 38-40 while some others' is 40-42.)

And, I have read here and some other places that an analog is equal to 1mg smoked. And since I smoke about a pack a day, I do want the feeling of getting nicotine, but not OD on it. And I am very aware of the dangers of nicotine overdose, and also nicotine poisoning.

Also, is it a good idea to wear gloves while filling carts? I have seen some videos (here and elsewhere) that some people just wipe their hands (hope they wash them too when finished) after filling a cart. I wear gloves in my line of work almost daily and since a pack of vinyl gloves (my preference, I don't have a latex allergy) at the grocery store is about $4 for a box of 50, but I can go to a hardware store and get a box of 100 for not much more, too.

But what I'd like to ask is that if I smoke(d) a pack of analogs a day, I'd like to have a general consensus of what strength to get when ordering my kit and e-juice for a pack-a-day smoker.

And my apologies if this has been asked before.

Cheers,

Hey Casper! :thumb:

I'd start off with the full strengths ones first. Camels are pretty strong, so go with the full strenghts. Then as you get used to it (maybe 3 or so months), order the medium strengths. Then after time, low. Then one day you can vape your head off with 0 mg nicotine. That's my game plan and I'm sticking too it. :D

One thing to remember is that your e-cig will require maintenance once in awhile, otherwise the vape you get will start tasting like crap. Many people in here can guide you on how to do that. Plus also remember that the atomizer is a "consumable item", meaning it will not last forever. But the atomizers on www.vaporoptions.com are cheap enough so you can buy a bunch of them in one shot if needed. I think I need to get another one, as my Smoking Everywhere atomizer is not as it was when I first bought it. But as my vaporoptions order is shipped, I may not even need to do that.

I personally don't wear gloves refilling my carts, but I would say that is probably a good idea just the same. I may just do that.

Casper, I can tell you for certain that once you do this, you will never want to light up a real one again. They taste nasty.

First, I wouldn't worry about juice on your hands. I mean think about it. You can put 10 pieces of nic gum in your mouth and chew them all at the same time if you want. Same with the nic nasal sprays which goes right into your nasal passage.

I also recommend starting out with a stronger level. Typically juice comes in 36mg, 24mg, 18mg, 16mg, 11mg, 6mg and 0mg. I started with 16mg and found it wasn't enough and switched to 24mg. I use 24mg and I'm transitioning to 18/16mg. I would recommend getting 24mg. You can always cut it with VG (USP grade glycerin from the drug store) if it is too strong. Another option is to get one bottle of 36mg and one bottle of 11mg. You can then experiement with the strength. (36mg + 11mg equal parts together equals 23.5mg) Use more of one or the other and change the strength.

A total newbie here, ;)

I do 18 mg/ about 2ml per day.
But a lot of experienced memebrs recommend to newbies to start off with zero, or maybe 6mg strenght and work their way up...

The lowest that you can stick with - the better.... especially if you get in the DIY section and start cutting 36mg with PG/VG - you`ll save a lot of $$

Hope that helps

I bought different strengths to start off with.. 11, 16, 24. My first two weeks I smoked mostly 24 but this week I'm finding it a bit strong so I'm moving down to 16. The 24 to start with was good for keeping me from vaping constantly in the beginning. Now that the novelty has worn off a bit and the cigarette withdrawal isn't bothering me so much, I think I can get by with 16. If not I'll mix it a little stronger but less than 24...My plan is to go to 0 nic eventually.

i would go with the highest you can get. i started out on med. and was getting cravings. i moved up to high and was able to stick with it.

If this turns out to be to much you can alway pick up some Glycerin and cut it. you can lower the nic contect but you can't add to it.

and as an add bonus you don't have to buy again as soon.

Thanks all who replied for telling me to start high then titrate on down or cut the liquid when necessary.

So, I'll start off with 36mg/ml first (or whatever is "high"/"super high" strength, depending on how they label it) and if it is too much, cut it with VG or a lower strength nic juice--and I'll buy a few strengths just to help me with that.

Thanks again.

I can say that vape diffrent levels of nic during the day. Using higher 18mg in the morning and after meals, then then a mix between 11-9mg the rest of the time. At night, watching tv, sitting with my laptop, i vape even lower levels just to relax and enjoy. Take your time, use higher nic when/if you need it and lower when you can. You will find what works bests for you.
