Well in this thread it's a whole bunch of BSing going on. I see a lot of discussion out in the forum about the latest and greatest devices as usual and a lot of talk about sub ohming which I'm not really interested in. I know CASAA needs more testimonies for the FDA thing. Oh yeah, and if you type swear words as run on words then the filter won't catch it but I wouldn't recommend trying it.

What with recent trips, I've gotten a little behind on the threads too, so I don't know yet if this is what you're referring to or not, but if it is here are the Cliff notes: There's a big difference between what is traditionally considered to be sub-ohming and the starting resistance of the nickel coiled attys used in mods that feature the new Evolv 40 temperature protected board. The resistance of the nickel (or titanium, if you're being a pioneer) coil starts out at what sounds like an absurdly low number -- .18 Ω is fairly typical, and is what my pre-made Kangertech temp coils read when they're cold -- but as soon as you hit them with some amps, the resistance goes up virtually instantaneously, so your vaping is not actually being done at that low resistance. The -40 board calculates the temperature of the coil by measuring its changing resistance, and when it hits your pre-set temp limit, it throttles back the amps. (Positive coefficient of temperature resistance.) It also does pre-heat/hotshot and has a few other neat tricks up its IC's.
Evolv had some glitches with the early releases of the board, which they said they brought to market earlier than they had planned to give them some ammo against Deeming: Their basic philosophy is to be pro-active about making vaping safer. I applaud them for that, and they're standing behind their product and replacing any boards that glitched, no questions asked. They'll even replace the board themselves in a mod they didn't build. (Although that's not usually the quickest way to do it.)
