I received this sample of the Kizoku Kirin Pod Kit from Heavengifts and I thank them: https://www.heavengifts.com/product/KIZOKU-Kirin-MTL-Mech-Kit.html

Following the release on the market of the surprising dual-use "Limit" atomizer, capable of operating both as an RTA and with pre-made nautilus coils, the Chinese company Vapeonly Technology has created an entry level kit, the Kizoku Kirin, "Kirin "the name is that of a creature from Chinese mythology is a kit consisting of a tube-shaped device that works with a single 18350 or 18650 battery and comes with 2 types of disposable tanks, one decidedly MTL and the other devoted to shooting Restricted / Flavor.

The packaging of the Kirin MTL Kit is really well done, on the front we find a window on the product, on the back there is the content, the manufacturer's address, various brands and logos; removing the red cover we are faced with a very rational arrangement of the objects that make up the kit, furthermore the instructions for use are directly indicated on the inside of the package itself.

    Kit Contents:

    1 x Tube mod
    1 x disposable Tank / Pod (1,2Ω)
    1 x Disposable Replacement Tank / Pod (0.5Ω Mesh)
    1 x Tip 510 with double O'ring
1 x Extension of the tube to accommodate the 18650
    1 x 18350 VapCell 3.7V 1.100Mah 5A battery
    1 x Warranty card
    1 x User Manual

    Characteristics and dimensions

    Tank capacity: 2Ml
    Output voltage: 3.5V
    Resistance range supported: 0.25Ω -3.0Ω
    Compatible cells: 18350/18650
    Construction material: 304 stainless steel
    Diameter 24mm
    Height 50mm (87.8mm with atomizer)
    Adapter length 18650: 32.8mm

    3.jpg

The Kirin tube is made entirely of 304 stainless steel and has a very compact and attractive design especially in the short configuration with 18350.

As for the work on the tube, the three diagonal lines that act as the cell vent had to be the object of greater attention, not that they are sharp but could be better beveled, always inside these 3 vents there is a LED indicating any malfunctions and the state of charge (hardly visible when it is white with a charge greater than 3.5V) the power button integrated in the tube structure is minimal, precise, sensitive and effective, the "kizoku" engraving is deep and well realized

The battery compartment is insulated by an internal sleeve, has a clear indication for the positioning of the positive pole, in the center of this indication we find the pin (fixed) for the battery contact. The cap / battery has an adjustment ring nut to ensure the correct positive contact / pin, unfortunately the thread of this ring nut often has jamming making it sometimes difficult to adjust it.

In the upper part the contact is not isolated and remains completely open to possible liquid leakage inside the circuit.

    9.jpg

In summary: the thread of the 18650 extension is good, the contact of the cup and the jamming of the adjustment ring on the battery cap are less good.

    13.jpg

The base with pin 510 that houses the pods is well made, with wide air-flow regulation, five small holes that can be fully partialized guarantee excellent contrast to the shot, differently to have high performance in flavor with the 0.5Ω coil it is necessary to use the opposing slots are equally divisible in sync.

    14.jpg

The two disposable pods; one with a 0.5Ω mesh coil, the other with 1.2Ω coils are supplied with a single Drip-Tip but of good quality having two sealing o'ring.

    15.jpg

The refill is made from the bottom, the lifting of the silicone cap is not very easy (for those without nails) subsequently the feeding hole that is discovered is quite wide and comfortable, filled the pod with the 2Ml of e-liquid we can screw it back to base 510 and to Kirin.

    Functions

Five close clicks to turn the device on / off, the LED light (visible through the three transversal slots on the tube body), provides information on the battery charge status (white indicates an optimal charge, red indicates a charge equal to or less than 3.5V).

    Protections

The mod is equipped with short circuit protection, the device turns off when the resistance is less than 0.2Ω or if the atomizer is removed, after a prolonged pull of about 15 seconds the power is interrupted.

    Conclusions

We could see in this review of how this tube has been treated in some details and a little less in others, the Kirin tank, although it is a disposable product (except for its unscrewable base) is made of PCTG, it seems to me well built and well matched to the tube; together they undoubtedly form an elegant and impressive pod kit.

In terms of ergonomics, it is indisputably easy to grasp thanks to its small size and slightly flared shape.

I tested both pods provided, using the mod in the 18350 configuration with the 1100 mAh Vapcell 18350 battery supplied in the package.
By virtue of the constant 3.5 volt output declared by the manufacturer and with the 0.5Ω pod the output power is about 24.5 watts, an ideal power for vaping in restricted flavor, unfortunately with this output power , the battery life appears rather limited and it is difficult to make more than one tank.

Partializing the pull with the coil from 0.5 to Mesh the tip tends to heat up is therefore much better to use a rather open air-flow configuration to limit this phenomenon, in this case the vape in my opinion is satisfactory, with a good production of steam, with less condensation and with a good aroma.

With the 1.2Ω pod, the Kirin's output power is just over 10 watts. Unlike what was seen with the 0.5 ohm tank, in this case the 18350 battery manages to perform very well and allows you to vaporize and exceed 2 2ml tanks. The ideal air flow with this 1.2Ω pod is undoubtedly the one with the individual partialized holes and from the tests carried out I believe that the optimal configuration is with 2-3 open holes. The shot is very silent and fluid with a discreet hit.

Of the two, however, I prefer the 0.5Ω mesh coil, the production of aroma and steam makes a great leap forward compared to the 1.2Ω

A kit designed for the entry level segment of the market and for users who wish to have a combination of great aesthetic impact with unique handling qualities. As for me I will buy as soon as I have the opportunity some 18350 battery for this pretty mod.
