I got upset because this behaves like typical brushed brass. which it is! I expected it to stay mark free like ss. that was just me being stupid. handle it for a few days and it should start to get marks. that is par for the course with brass. my criticism was unfounded on that. the contact has to be screwed onto the button very tight for it to be recessed. if you mess with the button be careful and use the right tools. I made it so it is about.35mm protruding. I do not see any way to use magnets on this. it is very good for a spring which is the main reason i got it. much easier to press now with one hand. I think the knurled one does not have airflow adjustment afaik. that is fine because my atty does. how is the knurling non functional? you grip it to unscrew it. the original one was an octagon shape.

I guess I didn't word that properly.

On the OG Diamond Knurled King, the knurling was on the air flow control and locking ring.

I guess it is functional for grip, but its essentially just decoration, when compared with the regular dusted brass king.

That's what I was talking about.

it got a patina and light scratches real fast. that is normal and fine. i just got upset for no reason. it smells metallic on my hands but i don't mind that either. it will go away. overall this is really nice. i was being an idiot. the switch is super for a spring. i don't see any way to put magnets in it. mine came with what appears to be silver contacts as they certainly are not copper. it hits hard and very little voltage drop. i preferred to have the button protruding a drop. now after my stupid rant i would say this is nicer quality than my chi you which is already very good. i think that is the most likely comparison.

there is a small nick in the contact. can i sand it or is that plated? if it is solid i am good to go but i need to know first. it probably does not matter anyways. since the battery's surface is not perfectly flat either.

this pic is magnified 30x. it did not come out good. to me the pin looks like dull silver. you can see where I damaged it on the right side. should I sand that assuming it is not plated? or best left alone. it still hits hard. the residue is caig pro-gold contact enhancer.

just thought id mention. I cannot feel that with my finger nail. it is about .25mm. looks like a gouge but it is a scratch. the caig in there makes it look worse at 30x magnification.

thanks.

no reason to get silver pin upgrade for this. first of all they are plated. plating wears off actually making contact worse. the stock ones are copper. pure silver has a .1% better conductivity than copper. that is very negligible and these are not even pure silver. so in this case the stock pins should be better. plus the whole mod is brass which does not conduct as good as copper. I would like magnets in it but I don't see any way. perhaps someone has done it and can say what was used. if this had magnets it would be darn near perfect. I actually did not damage the pin. many pins come much more banged up than that pic.

similar drop and maybe harder hit. quality is un heard of. yes, I know I freaked out at first but I was being an idiot. I have not seen any other mod built this well. some others are close but this takes the cake. pretty much only one I use now and I have a nice collection going. the nem is nice but just not quite up to the surefire. just can't beat usa when they do it right. the nem is very nice too and part of what I call the quality is the surefire ways about twice what the nem does. that could be a problem for some people though. the weight plus recessed button takes some getting used to. balances nicely but I still get some misfires because I did not press it good.
