Hey all,

I shopped around a bit before finally jumping into the e-cig world...

I decided on a KR808-D1 kit with a few extras...
I got the long batteries, as the shorter ones have a shorter battery life, and didn't get the XLs, even though they prolly last longer, as the XLs don't fit in the recharger case.

I got 2 A/C chargers, 3 long batteries, a USB charger case, a few boxes of cartomizers and a straight USB/A/C charger (a straight USB charger with an A/C adapter), and a car adapter hat plugs into one of the A/C adapters.

The batteries last a pretty long time, about half to 3/4 the day with pretty heavy vaping and can really heat up a cartomizer if heavy vaping (like when you first get a couple of samplers boxes w/ 10 flavors & 10 other flavors + 3 freebies (21 flavors to try, all new, and all on the same day/same battery!) :vapor: <head rush> - will pace it next time!

The cartomizers varied, although most produce a lot of vapor - the WOWs I got from V4L are my favorites, yet go back to my tobacco flavors and love those too.. again a lot of vapor!
When refilling the cartomizers (yes! they are refillable! Don't toss 'em when they are done!!!) Easy to refill too! put 15 drops in a cap on a flat surface, press the cartomizer into the cap battery-side down - GENTLY, wipe the ides and battery end off with a washcloth or paper towel and they are ready to go! If any excess, just blow it out into a paper towel, then put it on the battery and vape away! I've only gotten about 3, out of about 50, that were either dry (2), and one with a mechanical problem.

Oh! Be SURE to shake your carts! This is especially true of the sweeter, more exotic flavors! I got a caramel mocha frappacino that tasted like a VERY strong shot of espresso until I remembered to shake it up, caps on, then it tasted fine. A bananas foster one that had no flavor until I shook it, then it tasted awesome! Shake your e-Liquids too before refilling to be sure you mix the flavors in!!!

The batteries do take a few hours to charge - 3-4 for a really great charge. I leave mine on the chargers overnight.

You might ask, then why 3 batteries then...? Friends, friends of friends, people you meet seem to all want to try them! I carry some extra carts around for those eager souls who have never tried them yet and are still smoking. The 3rd battery is also nice too, as some of the sweeter flavors (not all, but a few) vape a whole lot better on a freshly charged battery!

I have the 3.7v batteries, and yes, there are 3.3v batteries out there, but I think the 3.3's are an oder model? I have a suspicion the 3.3v batteries may not vape, especially the sweeter flavors quite as well as the 3.7v's.

I just ordered a pass-through so I can be by my laptop and have a consistent 5v charge, which should be an interesting amount of vapor... With some flavors, I can fill a room with vapor with a 3.7v battery fully charged! Yum!

If you get this model and aren't getting a full load of vapor, but hear the cartomizer kinda sizzle, then you might have received a dry cartridge, or if it stops after a short while, maybe not a full one...

Don't fret, just be sure you have some ejuice near by, fill 'er up, then vape away!

I'm glad I started out with a good set-up. I'll see how the passthrough goes and if I like the 5v better, either I'll be glued to my laptop, get a cig lighter car adapter for USB and get another for my car and/or try one of the 5v batteries that fit he cartomizers I have.

BTW, the XL cartomizers will be on their way shortly, and take even more eJuice, so may last me more than a day! Hmmm... I can't wait!

I'd suggest getting sampler packs of tobacco cartomizers to see which flavors you like the best, then order eJuice in the flavors you like! Add a few pack of the sweeter flavors too... If you like a good frappicino, the caramel and Caramel Mocha Frappiccinos are awesome! Those are going on my eJuice shopping lists!

After reading the 501's only take roughly 5-8 drops of eJuice, I'm glad I have the KR808-D1 3.7v batteries and cartomizers! I'm glad I waited and am VERY happy with the choice I made!

If you like a sweet tobacco flavor, the RY4 is pretty good. Great vapor too! A good one to start with. It came recommended to me, so I ordered some with my 1st order. After tasting all these incredible flavors, it wouldn't be my 1st choice, but is a good place to start. If you like something with a bit more smooth, the Hilton or RY4, a very slight touch of menthol-barely these, the cowboy. Hilton is a fav. of mine, a stronger flavor? try the Dunhill - too much for me! Lights? try Kant. Sweet tobacco? Virginia is OK, but that & the Parlamint taste papery to me. The French Pipe if you like a very light, sweet pipe vape.

I suggest getting a mix, as sometimes I like the sweet flavors, like dessert, other times, I like the tobacco flavors, and they seem to give move of that tingle like smoking did, but without the smoke.

Enjoy!~~~~~~~~~

Very nice. I use a KR808 and love it. Im glad I bought it over the 510 just because I feel its easier to use. I had 2 egos and sold both of them. Just didnt feel like a cig to me. I now have a GLV-2 which is blowing me away! but thats another story. glad you like the 808. I would recommend it to everyone starting out or even if your looking for something just to carry around. The 808 is it.

Hey, good luck!

After reading the 501's only take roughly 5-8 drops of eJuice, I'm glad I have the KR808-D1 3.7v batteries and cartomizers! I'm glad I waited and am VERY happy with the choice I made!

The tradeoff is that it can be *less* messy to refill cartridges if you're coordinated with a dropper, and a 901 cart takes more like 10+ (or.. a dry 40x takes about 10 'small' drops out of a small Dekang bottle and a 901 takes at least twice that). :)

But if you ever want to try a 510-style, get a disposable or two and a 510-to-808 adapter, probably the best of all worlds. (Or.. I'm about to find out about using 901 atomizers directly, which might take an inch of adapter out of the 'stack.')

If you like a sweet tobacco flavor, the RY4 is pretty good. Great vapor too! A good one to start with. It came recommended to me, so I ordered some with my 1st order.

Just a tip - it probably depends on your source or batch, but hooboy, the RY4 is sickly sweet for me. If you come across some RY3 you might want to give it a shot for a more balanced tobacco-caramel, though tolerance to sickly-sweet flavors does improve after a couple months away from actual tobacco. :) Black tea is also surprisingly good as a relatively neutral clean-out between flavors, and for storing atomizers moist. And get thee to some Johnson Creek, trust me!

I skipped trying most of the Dekang tobacco flavors but "Virginia" does smell pretty realistically like tearing into a bag of light Bali Shag. If it's papery, maybe that sort of tobacco is papery - but you might be noticing that tobacco flavors dry your mouth out worse than anything. "Winstown" is a little 'off' but has a real dank taste that mixes well with apple and such.

...

Edit: Left out the real point in replying - if you don't find it elsewhere, when the 'tape' on the cartos gets funky with lip residue and all that, you can 'peel' them to reveal nice bare steel (or whatever it is) underneath - but beware that you'll need to carefully use some olive oil to get all the adhesive off. Someone else suggested putting them in the freezer first to make it peel off easier. Downside: The tape is insulation, and they do get hot beneath!
If they've switched to painting them at some point, or you don't have slobbery lips that make it an issue, ignore me. :)
