The threading is the same for 808 and 901, so it
should work as long as you're able to screw it in far enough for the center pin to make contact. Goine from an 808 battery to a 901 atty shouldn't give you any air flow issues, since a 901 atty takes in the bulk of it's air from the hole in the side instead of through the connector. Doing the reverse can be problematic on some
devices due to the lack of allowances for air flow on some 901
devices' connectors
Can't hurt to give it a try

Just don't get an LR atty if you're using a slim cigarette-sized battery, they aren't up to the task
Adapters are also an option, too, of course, if you wanted to try a different atty type
