KR808D-1 Is amazing

After viewing a handful of youtube videos from one "GrimmGreen", I decided I wanted to try a Nebula. However, it was a little expensive from the place suggested in the video (Though Ben was very nice and understanding when I asked to retract my order. I will be buying some juice from him Friday). I bought a pair of KR808D-1 from Vapor Kings and a pack of Camel. It was cheaper cause there was no box, just all the goodies in a small ziplock bag. With the "out of box" charge provided on this thing, It lasted atleast 4 hours (I plugged it in when I got home so I may have gotten alot more). This thing is amazing. Great Vapor, throat hit, lightweight, feels natural, good flavor andits black so thats a plus (though they come in different colors). The only thing i thought was weird is that when you blow into the fake ash end it for some reason completes the circuit and starts the e-cig. No idea why. Regardless, I love it. Come friday I'm getting a passthru, some juice from Vapornine and some blank carts.

Welcome to ECF! Glad you're on board. The auto switch in your battery is activated by air or sound. Some are activated by vacuum. If you're passthrough has a manual switch you'll see the difference. For this reason you sometimes have to pay attention to the surrounding noise - people have had the autos going off in their pocket when they're at a club, etc. Just so you know.

Thanks So much Kent. I'll make sure the next set of KR808D1s I get are manual. Awesome info! I'm obviously still quite a newb.

We all were - once upon a time. You'll get good use from the auto just be aware of the possibilities. As you may or may not know, the XL battery is the one most suggested because it has a long time before it cuts off - like 13 seconds. I find earlier cutoffs can be problematic - but ymmv. Glad I could help!

Welcome Aboard and you've gotten off to a good start with a good model. The KR808D-1 is the same one I started with and I quit smoking instantly with it.

As was already mentioned, the auto batts are somewhat sensitive to noise and the act of "sucking" air through it (or blowing from the LED end) is what activates the switch to turn it on. And that a noisy environment may cause it to be on when you aren't aware of it. One person mentioned some time ago that their battery died during a short drive somewhere and discovered that they were holding it close to an open car window and the rush of the air made it operate. Then there was another one who forgot they were vaping and tossed their e-cig out of a moving car while driving down the road... but that's another story.

For me anyway, I found that with my KR8 if I took a very light vape (just strong enough to light up my LED) for about 2 seconds - stopped for 1 second - then continued with the same light vape for about 4-5 seconds I would get the perfect vape. Also when you attach your carto to your battery, just go barely snug with it which will ensure that you are getting as much air as possible via the connection between the two.

Glad you are enjoying your vaping experience and it won't be long before you start looking into one of the other models available out there.

Just a little clarification .. the Kr8 auto batteries are not activated by sound (unless for some strange reason that was changed) but blowing on the "ash" end of the battery will activate it just like sucking it from the connector end would.....

I know back in the day (forum days :p) there were some tips on how to get an "extra" hit by placing one of the cartomizer condoms(rubber carto covers) on the LED (ash) end and as you take a hit push the condom in and that would supposidly provide a nicer hit...

Congratulations to both of you for choosing a fine PV! I've got a number of different PVs now, but the KR8 is still one of my favorites. As far as activation by blowing on the LED end, that's only true with the auto batteries. I greatly prefer the manual battery myself, and only buy XLs. V4L now has a case which will accomodate them too (I have one on its way to me). If I could change one thing about the KR808 battery, I would dump the LED. OK, maybe a little one located somewhere else. But, simulating an analog's lit tip is just so darn hokey. Most PVs do, I know, but I would chose otherwise. I'm one who has no desire for my PV to resemble an analog in any way.

Wow! Long freaking live Vapor King. I just received it in the mail today and its my fourth type of e-cig to date. It is hands down THE BEST e-cig I have tried. The flavours are phenomenal and it drags soooo easily. It has been just like an analog to me, if not even easier lol I'm so freaking impressed right now. My 510 is going to get jealous.
