Your istick 50 watt battery can run a coil as low as 0.2 ohms and still be safe.
In terms of "dry hits" using your tank with a 0.8 ohm coil, start low and slowly dial the wattage up. If you get a burnt taste (dry hit) dial it down a notch or two.

It is all up to your personal preference but I would start off in the ball park of 15-20 watts, if that vare is too warm you can turn it down, likewise if it is too weak or cool then you can go up. You are on a regulated device so you are not in the same peril mech users are if mistakes are made. Experiment and have fun with it!:D
