bullymom, as far as batts go, you should label, charge, use, and discard in sets. the reason, the power from 1 battery will pass through the other battery in a full loop. if one of those batteries varies from what it's "used to", failure, reduction in life, and over discharge may occur. I mark mine with a sharpie with a solid line of black on 1 pair of batts. you could yse markers, paint, masking tape, electrical tape pull tabs in different locations, etc. not everyone thinks this is nessisary but it's easy enough to do and it makes me feel better.

I had read that somewhere on the forum. I used a sharpie. I was surprised at how quickly they charged up. Then I found out from the supplier that they come about 80% pre charged. So I'm loaded and ready to roll.

So bp, I can use the 1.7's as long as I don't go over 4.2????

That would be nice!!! Just want to be safe. Thanks buddy

Like I said I'm running 1.6 ohm DC's in my tanks @ 4.2 volts and they'll go higher. Most smokers choke when they try my PV!

Picked up a Lava Tube here on the forum. Little Man is finally getting a break! Trouble is I've been using boxes so long I don't know if I can adjust to a tube mod. Woe is me...

Been reading all around about batteries well I am sort of concerned I picked up some Blue wrapper Trustfire 14500 batteries for my mod with the trustfire charger and I'm wondering if I should not use my mod at higher than 4 volts? Does anyone have any experience with one of these Evercool's and higher voltages on a 1.5ohm Dual coil carto?

Those are the same batteries James uses, you should be able to take it up to around 5v. If you go higher than the batteries can handle the protection circuit will kick in and shut them down, if that happens just turn the mod off crank the voltage down a bit then turn it back on and vape away.

Good so far! The LT is kind of a replacement for my Prodigy that got ripped off. This one was from a private seller in Canada so it doesn't have the logo on it. Found a chart over on the Volcano website that said the protection circuit would kick in @ 4.3 volts using a 1.7 ohm carto. That's what my carto metered out at. I like it @ 4.2 so I'm good. I've been vaping it all day giving my poor Little Man a well deserved break! You're not off the hook though James! I'm still looking forward to my next Little Man, when you get to it.

What do you think of is donesmokin? Does it draw well and feel strong? I've heard random things but no one ever gave me like a good run down on it. People are saying it's going to compete directly with provari but I wouldn't bet on it.

James

Yes, inquiring minds would like to know:)

Day two with the LT. The draw is fine with a fairly new carto. The ones in my tanks are nearing the end of their lives so I can't go by them. The first fully charged battery lasted about 12 hours of very heavy vaping (I had the day off). I thought the performance had dropped this morning so I checked the battery which showed 3.6 volts. Changing it out put things right so I think there's some sag before the batt cuts out. This was just the first batt mind you so I don't know if we can go by that. The display on mine is mounted a little too high so you have to tilt the mod back a little for viewing. I heard about connections being crooked but this one's straight. I haven't had the pleasure of a Provari so I can't compare but then again, I'm too cheap for one anyway! So far I think it's pretty good for a low end mass produced VV mod. Ask more questions if I didn't cover everything you wanted to know!

Good job on the review:thumbs:, you brought up some interesting points that I hadn't previously heard. I am really impressed that you are getting such good battery life out of a boosted mod.

I'm only running it @ 4.2 volts with the 1.7 ohm DCT's so maybe that helps the batt life. Next order I'll get some 2.5 ohm cartos for it and my straight 5 volt boxes. I think they might be a better fit according to the chart I saw on the Volcano website. With the 1.7 ohms I'm very close to hitting the protection limit. Forgot to say this thing is dead simple to run. The Provari looks too complex with all the button pushing for my little pee brain!

That is even more impressive if you are running dual coils on it considering how much strain they put on a device. The Provari really isn't that difficult to figure out once its in your hands, I got to borrow a friends for a day and it is actually quite easy to use, I am sure you would be fine:)

I figured since it was a mass production low cost thing there might be small things that would irk me. At least you got one with a straight connection. I wish I was able to make screens that small but hell if I could do that then I probably wouldn't be making boxes.

James

We talked about it before James. A Lava Tube size display in something like Little Man would be cool. If only you could get your hands on them. The LT is almost 2 1/4" taller with a higher center of gravity than Little Man. That makes it a lot less shirt pocket friendly. I can see that being a pretty big problem for me. There's still going to be a very big place in the market for box mods IMHO!
