KTS not working & a quick light from the tank

Hello everyone,

i am new to the forums here and have a problem with my KTS storm. It's brand new, I've probably used one full battery on it. I charged the 18350 kamry battery and put it in the kts and tried hitting it. It worked for one hit, but right after as I had it in firing position, I could have sworn I saw something similar to an "led light" that flashed through the tank as I was hitting it (something possibly sparked I think??). Anyways, it doesn't hit anymore! Is there any way I can resolve this? what parts do I need / can I bring it into a vape shop?

Hi Donald, welcome to ECF.

No details of any real value... other than the mech and the "flash". You probably don't have a DMM to test anything, so a guess - you probably shorted the coil.

The KTS button contact quality is somewhat limited - if you're vaping sub-ohm... as is using a 18350 battery.

No one here can help you without more details, so at the least, either provide the atty type and beginning and current coil resistance... or take it to a vape shop where, one would hope, they can test it.

Reading this may provide a bit of insight as to our limits of assistance, and some useful information on the KTS button.

Don't be discouraged. Learn a bit of basic DC electrical theory and get a DMM... so you can diagnose your problems effectively and safely.

The kts storm is a straight mechanical mod so there isn't to much that can go wrong with it. The battery, the metal housing, the switch and the threads.
Do you have a meter so you can check the battery for the correct voltage? Any melting on battery insulation? Do you have another battery to test in your mod?
Did you disassemble the mod to look for burnt places or melting?
Did you try tank on another battery to see if tank is the problem?
That is what I can think of to check out hope these suggestions help.

yeah I do not have a DMM,, pretty much all I know from the battery is that it is a stock Kamry Battery that says ICR 18359 900 mah on it. I'm checking out the mod right now and there doesn't seem to be any burnt spots from where the battery is placed
