I have the square version and the display screen doesn't rattle or move at all. Maybe because it's on a flat surface instead of the round ? I dunno 
I have 3 of the square models and LOVE them. (None came with shorts in them either) Thank you for your review

Yes, it's apparent that I got a dud... not surprising really in a device that's mass produced. I can honestly say that if mine didn't have a short I would really love it.

I love your tree in the background btw I'm using mine all the time now. I'm not a high voltage vaper so it's just perfect and I'm getting about 5½ to 6 hours on my batteries (AW IMR 600 mah, and I also use the Efest 700 mah) I've been trying to roll around in my head how to make a lanyard for the cube shape though without having a 'pouch' style bag to slip it in 
I wish they made all the nice colors of the round ones in the square style.
I'm using mine all the time now.
