My best friend of many years and former roommate had a little black poodle named Mindy who thot she was a Doberman!

Anyway, she'd take Mindy to the groomer's and they'd put the cute little pink bows on her ears and paint her toenails. When she got home, Mindy would tuck her tail and skulk into the closet or under the furniture and STAY there until she got rid of those bows and chewed the polish off her nails!!

You could tell from her body language she was emBARassed!! I harangued my friend about it until she finally stopped having them do it!!
LOL! My grandparents next door neighbors always had Standard Poodles - one of their boys was very sensitive to the quality of his haircut, and if the groomer made any kind of mistake (even one leg a fraction longer than the other, or a too poofy tail), instead of coming to my grandmothers window to say hi every day (he loved her), he would HIDE until it grew out, and would sometimes refuse to go into the backyard to relieve himself until after dark so no one could see him. lol
My mom's bichon loved being dressed up, and really loved having pretty scarves & things around her neck, but she was VERY sensitive to what she wore, and if she didn't like an outfit, she would sit facing the wall & refuse to move. The duck costume I bought her for Halloween did NOT go over well. The first time we put it on her, she marched over to the wall & sat down. I picked her up & brought her over to the couch, at which point she jumped up on the arm of the sofa, and... faced the wall - apparently she thought that if she couldn't see us, we couldn't see her

too bad, because that costume was so darn cute on her!
Flip side of Mindy, was Sophie, the dobie I had as a teenager, who pranced every time she had her nails painted. She preferred red
