We had one who had the extra toes (died of old-age related probs last year) and between the visible toes, there were little skinny nubs complete with claws -- he had about 10 on each foot total!!

My beasties are having a bit of a rough go of it ATM...they're all itchy with a few ouchie spots. A bath and top spot application didn't stop the itching, so they're all on benadryl til their skin heals. then the oldest beastie (aka gimp dog) had a badly dislocated hip when i found him as a pup. it healed, but he's thrown it out again. He's on baby aspirin and glucosamine too. thank gosh they can't tell the difference between pills and treats.

Keep forgetting to tell y'all -- Baby Boy recovered from the hole in his chin, Nomad is steadily improving , and sweet Riley's gone! Our niece has one decent, sane, responsible friend left and he agreed to babysit Riley so she'd be able to visit him (they're both in the Dallas area). Good news is, he was all clipped, had his shots and Advantage, and he went berSERK when they showed up! He loves this guy almost as he loves his Mommy! So we were satisfied that he'll be loved and cared for and happy!

Aww Funny! I'm sorry sweet Riley is gone, but it sounds like he is going to love his new home & being able to see his mama regularly! Maybe he can come visit you for vacations

Thanks, Cheeky! Actually, DH and I were relieved, because once again we had the dog we ended up with instead of the dog we picked, and I REALLY want to pick my next dog!

Yeah, he likes us a LOT, but he liked this guy WAY more, so he'll be happy!! And they were headed to buy him a bunch of toys and supplies!

Uh, well, kinda sorta. He was clean, but he'd gotten in the burrs aGAIN!! That dog is a MAGNET for clover burrs and the tiny little burrs we call beggar lice (some people call them hitchhikers)!

Leo can go out for a quick tinkle & come back in 3minutes later with a green beard and 4 mottled green/white paws!!! I keep telling Jeff we need to get ducks - they like to eat hitchhikers lol

I'm glad Riley was SO excited about his new papa, sounds like he is going to have a terrific new life!!!

What kind of pup are you thinking bout now that you get to choose again?

Well, WHEN I get another dog, and there's no big rush, I'm torn between a G Shepherd, a Rott and a Smooth Collie. I figure the right one will turn up at the right time.
