Very interesting to see the different philosophies of various vapers. Some people could care less and vape literally everywhere stealth or not (someone was vagrantly vaping on a plane with no problems!?!?). Others won't vape at all in public. I'm in between, I stealth vape a lot in public, and if asked to stop, I either stop completely (and I'm always friendly and understanding with people) or just go into uber-stealth mode. I've only been asked to stop when people see plumes of smoke (not stealth at all) in bars and restaurants. Both times they knew what it was and and sister it was policy, "Sure! I understand, no problem!" ....Activate Stealth Mode.....

The only time I do huge vapor is if I'm trying to get peoples attention... Like in the middle of a group of smokers...
Normally, I'm not a huge vapor kind of vaper... I'm much more interested in throat hit and flavor... I like a good warm thump at the back of my throat, and I mouth inhale the same as when I was using analogs...

I prefer a fairly tight draw, my AGA-T2 with the factory airhole is almost perfect... But definitely not a cloud Producer... And most of my juices are as close to 100% PG as I can get them. My ADV MFS-Soldiers Blend IS 100% PG.

This makes stealth vaping almost natural, and UBER-Stealth vaping as simple as pie :D

But that's the beauty of vaping... It has become such a versatile activity via the different mods, and juices that everyone really CAN "Have it Your Way!" whether you're a minimalistic vapor producer like me, or driving a "Legal Vape 4000" like Phil Busardo :D

Absolutely not. I apply common sense to these regulations.

Now, I brace myself for the inevitable, "You are gonna make so many people mad it will ruin it for everyone and it will be banned because of you being an inconsiderate jerk" comments....

Well, not really an issue, IMHO... people who make that comment have not still realized that ideology, from a small group of people, is behind all those e-cig bans, not real concerns/complains from a multitude of people who somehow fear for their lives, because of the 'dangerous second hand vapour'...
Thinking about it, that was not even the main issue (with the 'common folk', anyway) that led to the tobacco cigarette ban! If you think of it, people were more annoyed by tobacco smell, for instance, than afraid of health consequences.
Usually, people would not tell you to stop because 'OMG, I have asthma, and that smoke is making me sick', or 'OMG, I don't want to get cancer...'. Usually, it came down to 'Hey, I'm trying to have lunch here, and that smell is disgusting along with the food!'

So, the 'common folk' needs to perceive that the e-cig may resemble a cigarette, the vaper may be mimicking smoking, but vaping in not even close to smoking. Vaping is not going to annoy them as smoking did. The only way we get to pass that message is to introduce people to vaping, let them know the diference... otherwise, a multitude of people will be clueless, and probably deceived, when a small group of rabid ANTZ's try to impose their ideology on everyone else...!

Having said the above, I am not a 'in-you-face', 'I can vape everyhere I want' type. I use common courtesy... but I will not hide my vaping in shadows either, or vape only were smoking is allowed (c'mon... not vaping in beaches? parks? really??). If we do that, how can we 'educate the public'?

Last night at my son's football game. I was sitting quietly in the top of stands, no one around me really. This $5.50 an hour mall rent a cop style security guard comes up and tells me "No smoking in the stands" I said, "I agree, I am not smoking. It's steam vapor" He said "looks like smoking, put it out." Then he turned his back to me and stood there like a $5.50 an hour mall rent a cop style security guard with his had on his flashlight like it was a gun, ready to draw. So I vaped on. He turned around and said "If I have to ask you again, you'll have to leave." Then he turned his back to me AGAIN and stood there like a $5.50 an hour mall rent a cop style security guard with his had on his flashlight like it was a gun, ready to draw. I said "OK and put it in my pocket.

Then I snapped. I got up walked over to him and pushed him down the stairs. He went sailing down, 30, 40 steps, tumbling head over heals, scream "Hep me! Help me please! Hep! I'm a security guard! Help!" with me run down after him. He hit the bottom and I lunged and jumped on his back, bit down hard on it his neck like I saw the wolves do with a uppity member of the pack on the Discovery Channel and I shook him while he cried. I said "It's not smoke, it's vapor! Got a problem with it now?" He cried more. I dry humped him into submission and then stood up and peed on him, marking him as my territory. I said "It's not smoke, it's vapor! Got a problem with it now?" He said "Sir no sir! It's vapor!" Then I realized the game had stopped. Everyone was watching me in utter and complete silence. I don't really like to draw attention to myself, I'm more of an introvert. I said "Carry on, nothing to see here!" and walked back up to my seat and started vaping. Then the oddest thing happened. One by one, hundreds of people started vaping with me. It was like that "I'd like to buy the world a Coke" commercial from the 70's as we all watched the game in peace and harmony. Except for that security guard.

I'm new to vaping with the benefit of not having a nicotine addiction. Well, my first setup all has very low nic... anywho... So yea, on top of not having a hankering to vape in public places, I've had minimal opportunity to anyway.

But oh the things I would do if I had a device like the Innokin 134. That thing will surely draw attention.

I was recently vaping on the sidewalk on a lovely day in Seattle. A LEO (Law Enforcement Officer) decided to "remind me" that "smoking must be done at a specific distance from the doors of any public business".

The funny (and sadly amusing) thing is that the week prior to my visit, members of the very same police department was handing out free bags of Doritos to any and everyone who was openly and publicly smoking ....a recently legalized plant substance (on those very same sidewalks) in celebration of Other Stuff Fest.

Granted, I don't practice the vape anywhere anytime philosophy that some here do - and I've only been vaping for 3 months. But the last & only place I've been asked to stop vaping was when I went to the 311 / Cypress Hill concert a couple months back. I was dumbfounded. Pot smoke everywhere and I can't vape? Security guy's response was, "we can't catch everybody!" I gave him a thumbs up and said, "good job!" I then waited for him to leave and proceeded to vape for the rest of the show.

Sounds like an awesome concert to go to other than that. 311 and Cypress Hill are awesome.

I haven't been vaping long enough to have had the opportunity to vape in many different places. I do plan to try my luck, being considerate of course, in and around local coffee shops. Some are groovier than others. But unless I'm letting rip with epic plumes, I don't expect any bother; curiosity perhaps, but no bother.

Vaping just doesn't attract attention for several reasons:

1. No one notices you light up. You're not digging around for your smokes and your lighter. The click of the button, and the hiss of the coil is nearly silent. But the flick of a lighter, especially a Zippo, is unmistakable. And when it's dark, there's no flame to light up your surroundings. It's only slightly more noticeable than someone bringing a pen to his mouth while pondering his crossword puzzle.

2. Vaping has nearly no odur. If there is a detectable aroma, it's generally pleasant and sweet. It smells nothing like the room filling "tarry death" of tobacco smoke.

3. Vaping is fast: press a button, burn one down, and put it away. You can sneak a hit without committing to an entire cigarette.

4. It's easy to hide vapour by either taking small draws, turning down the power, exhaling into your sleeve, or holding the hit a bit longer. Vapour dissipates in seconds while tobacco smoke can cloud up an enclosed room for hours.

5. Most people will only take issue with your activity if they are genuinely bothered by the effect of your habit, not the habit itself, or your enjoyment of it. Only a few have a problem with it "just 'cause," and even fewer of those types would have the courage to confront you face to face. They might tattle on you. But because everyone hates a tattle tale, I would rarely expect tattle tailing to come around and bite you.

I can think of no better way to promote vaping as a mainstream, socially acceptable activity, than to vape freely and openly, while being friendly, considerate, casual and informative. People are curious by nature. Make sure your first reaction to that curiosity is friendly, confident, and informative. Avoid being defensive at all costs.

Remember, vaping is awesome because it allows you to enjoy you nicotine and it doesn't harm anyone.

Vape on.

I vape in public all the time. The only time I've been asked to stop was because the manager saw me across the room, thought I was smoking, and sent someone to tell me "no smoking". Once I showed him my PV, he said "Oh, it's one of those, you are fine". I didn't have to explain what it was.

New vapers always seem to assume that if you vape in public, everyone is going to complain and treat it like a cigarette, but they don't. Mostly because it doesn't smell like a cigarette, so they don't care.

I have a group of friends (they all vape too) and we all meet up about once a week. We tried to go to Starbucks and they kicked us out for vaping. No signs posted and yet they tell us it is a company wide policy. That's OK though... Tim Hortons appreciates our business. :)

Apparently my local starbucks (and a few in Colorado too) haven't heard of this "company wide policy". I've vaped in a few here in Cheyenne and haven't had a problem (I asked before doing so).

Only place I've been asked to stop: in my car. by my wife. she was just psssd cuz she couldn't have a cigarette.
(I have given her a setup, she just hasn't switched yet!)

I did see this sign yesterday. You can tell from the little palm trees in the background - it's at In-N-Out.
