I worked in Alhambra for a few years. Ever hear of Bill's Chicken on Lake, North of the fwy?

Absolutely. I grew up in those parts, and we moved around. Lived mostly in Pasadena, Arcadia, San Gabriel, and Sierra Madre. I know Alhambra well, or I did. It looks vastly different then when I was there. They had a discount Van's shoe store that I frequented often...well before it closed my senior year in hs. They had this awesome smorgasbord place that my dad would take me to when my mom was away.

I spent time in covina. About 31 yrs ago to be exact. I was pregnant with my son. My dad's second wife's family lived there and went there for a wedding.

Santa Barbara is still my fav. Of places I visited in ca. I flew in a small 20 passenger plane from SF down the coast. It was beautiful. Great way to sight see :D

When you say Pastrami. I think of NYC deli when i went to college. Or jewish delis where I lived in nj.

My fav food around here is Mexican. I miss fresh seafood I was able to get in Boston. And the real pizza fRom nj.

Now I'm really hungry! Been waiting on other half to call / finIsh work so we can decide on food.

You've lived all over the place, Claire. Did you have to have to travel for work/military, or are you just a free spirit type?

Which mexican restaurant do you like here? I find nothing we have compares to California mexican food.

We did go from winter to summer. That seems to happen a lot though. Nice afternoon storm we had today. I'll miss that about Georgia when I move - the summer storms. California doesn't get what we get here - lightening, thunder, the high winds and frequent summer rains.

Now you're speaking my language! When I first moved down here from NJ I craved good pizza, rye bread, decent pastrami and pork roll. Mmmm. Seafood we have. :) I lived in Washington state for a bit and was introduced to Dungeness crab. Never ate a NJ blue claw again, way too much work. lol

Question- has anyone ever learned another language through CDs or videos? I want to learn some Chinese. Nothing super in-depth, just conversational, the basics, no reading or writing (as if I could anyway). I found some online video, free, but it's really geared towards children. I'll do the lessons anyway but was wondering about other things.

Where at in NJ you from. I'm from here in Texas but my gf is from south NJ. Marmora (sp). Outside ocean city.

And many years ago I downloaded Roseta Stone for Arabic and French. Helped give me great refresh of French but I just couldn't catch Arabic. But it is good. Pm me for details ;)

I'm a free spirit. Traveled arOund the state's a little when I could. Moved from NJ to PA back to NJ then Boston and now GA.

El ranchero on rose creek drive. Woodstock / towne lake. I get a 32 oz container if their salsa to take home approx once a week. Lol. Yummy enchilada too.

My little corner of acworth didn't get much of a storm. It rained twice enough to water plants.

Fp. Do you go back to CA often? Or planning to move from GA?

I just followed your diy diary thread. Great notes you've been logging! It seems you have a good process in how you test each flavor. Nice work :)

Thanks :)

I am in GA now but moving to California sometime this year, hopefully the end of summer/early fall, depending on a few details. I usually go there 3-4X a year.
