Hi everyone. I just got a LT over the weekend and was reading up quite a bit on the types of cartomizers that are suitable for it.

It seems the general consensus is that LR single coils and dual coils are out of the picture due to the safety feature of the LT. You will never get the prefered wattage without hitting the 2.5amp cutoff.

I did some calculations of my own with regards to Voltages, Amps, Resistance and Watt and this is what i realized.

High resistance (2.8 - 3.0) combined with high voltages gives high watts without triggering the 2.5amp limit.
e.g. 5v @ 2.8ohms gives 8.9watts but only 1.8amps.

Lower resistance combined with lower voltage can give you similar wattage but with higher amp readings.
e.g. 3.3v @ 1.5ohms gives 7.26watts but with 2.2amps, which is pretty much why the LT will never allow you to go higher than 3.3 - 3.4v with a LR cartomizers attached.

Now... problem is, everyone is selling LR Dual Coil carts for the tanks. I need a source for single coil standard to high resistance cartomizers which can be used on the DCT. Prepunched is pretty much out of the question so I'm ok with no holes. I'm intending to purchase the hole puncher once i decide that tanks is the way to go for me.

So anyone with a source for the Boge Standard to High resistance single coil cartomisers, please drop me a PM. I have a pack of 5 at the moment that i bought over the weekend with the LT, but that is a COD deal done almost 330km away.

Thanks! I see that you're from Germany. Welcome to the other side of the world!
I was actually looking more for where I can get it locally here. Shipping and delivery from overseas site has its risk and i know but i'm being selfish, but i rather pay a premium for the lesser risk options.

Thanks anyway!

there are a few xl single coil carto's out there for DCT's I am at work right now but will post a link when I get home to where I found some xl single coil boge's.

Wultan, 7.5watt started to give me burnt taste after 3 to 4 vape continuesly, using 75PG/25VG

Ur example "3.3v @ 1.5ohms gives 7.26watts but with 2.2amps"
which is actually good enough.

How high do u want ur wattage to be? 10w, 12w, 13w

unless u use high VG then u need more power to burn the juice... cos VG is thick and will clog ur atty..
try look at sticky tread "Vaping Power Chart"

hope it helps...

misconception here. You dont ever want to burn your juice. The coils heats up to turn the juice to steam or also known as vapor. Clogging happens even with PG juices although it happen quicker with VG. :vapor:

Dirt @ Thxs for pointing out..
Correction - need more power to heat the coil to evaporate the juice to become steam..
Dirt @ is that better...

I completely understand where you're coming from mate.
But results also varies from user to user and juice to juice.
e.g. I'm currently vaping at 5V with a 3ohm cartomizer which gives 8.9 watts and it is working quite well for me with the juice i'm using.

Also, its not really a need, but more like, "i've spend the money on a VV device, i might as well make use of the VV."

Thanks for the headsup. Much appreciated.

Lol. Your cute. Question. Do you really need more power to vape on VG? I honestly have not noticed a difference. In terms if power of course.

i'm just gonna use the hammer and nail + either blue tack or the cut up condom technique for punching holes. at first i wanted to spent money on the hole punchers then i saw this woman on youtube do it with out any aid... i was like .... it, i'm gonna buy a bunch of narrow tipped nails. LOL

anyway i've been using a diy punched XXL LR boge carto 2ohms +-0.2 (i believe is XXL cause total length including the battery connector is like 50mm) on a tank, vaping at 3.7-3.9v. lots of vapor, no buring taste on 70/30 juice.

i have to add... i tried using the SR non-punched boge carto and it gave me a might tighter draw and much stronger throat/lung hit than the LR boge carto in the tank. i'm not sure if the tank has any effect on the draw but this is what i found from my experimentation. i also used the same juice for this test.

True that. Were they the 1st people who came up with the tanks? And, would you happen to know if the current plastic used to make the tanks will react with certain juices?

DD

i doubt they came up with the tanks but bought them over from smoktech and resell. it wont break in the pro version since pro and non-pro version are made up of different plastic. polypropylene and polycarbonate respectively.

Ok.. Ce4+ (2.9 - 3.0) do not work very well on LT @ 5V. Infact, anything more than 4V will prevent you from taking more than a few drags at a go before being hit with the taste of chao tar (over cooked) liquid.

The Boge SR (2.9 - 3.0) cartomizers in a DCT however, that's a completely different story. Continuous vaping at 5V presents hit after hit of smooth, warm vapor with average TH (I'm only using 6mg 60/40). Vapor production is also incredible so much so that I have to make the extra effort of being discreet in the office.

For me now, the ce4+ will be with the ego 1100 batt for outdoor use and the LT with the carts + tank will be for indoor use. Let me know how your experiences are people.

Oh... and if you do store your liquid in the fridge like I do, please allow it to "warm" up after removing them from the fridge. The cold causes the liquid to me much less viscous and filling is a pain when the consistency is so thick, it pops the top off the bottle!
