I went ahead late last evening and placed my order for a silver LT, 4ML tank, 3.0 carts (5) and a charger as this will be my first vv mod. In doing so I may have gone against my better judgement but in the end the price with the 1 year warranty was too hard to pass up even with the "lust" I feel toward the Provari. The only real issue I have is the voltage issues as documented in the review. Once I get my LT it's going on the volt meter and I'll run some tests on my unit and in my mind if voltages are or do become an issue as my vaping habits change/mature I will put the Volcano warranty to the test as this is an issue that needs to be addressed and yes, one should get what they pay for and I'm paying for "regulated" functionality up to 6 volts as advertised IMO....we shall see....

Good review but I dislike them. 10 second cutoffs are horrible and what about the voltage drop going on with them. Another reason for my dislike. I can see, at most, a .2V drop but for cripes sakes..1V or more!..and that's on a battery metered at 4.2V with a Boge 3.0ohm carto. Too much inconsistency. China can keep them.

no offence but...I hate seeing reviews like this (while my order is on it's way!)

Believe me, I take no pleasure in doing it. But truth is truth. I really really wanted to like this mod. However, in it's present form, I can't say I really do.

Ive watched the video twice now and I did not see where is showed a 1 volt discrepancy. The most I saw was .7 Volts and that was with a nearly dead battery. One more thing someone wrote below your video review that testing the volts while the LCD was still on might have an effect on the output. Not sure if that matters or not. Maybe Fazed can comment on that.

wow that stinks. So besides the provari who else has a decent VV out there?

I was initially taken in by the LavaTube hype as we awaited its arrival.

But then I started looking at NotCigs and the Infinity Pro - Phil Busardo did an excellent (as usual) video review and, coupled with a sale offer, I got a shiny chrome, VV PV with batteries and charger for US$109.

The Infinity doesn't have bells and whistles or a fancy-schmancy LCD display but it is a solid, well-built, American made PV that doesn't pull any stunts (like dropping the voltage to a 'safe' level without telling you) and delivers reliably. I heartily endorse it - so go buy one! :)

I commented back on that. Sometimes, yes, I didn't wait for the display to go off. It doesn't matter if the display is illuminated or not. The voltage does change as soon as you hit the button. I just uploaded a follow up addendum showing this. It's processing now but I'll link to it as soon as its done.

No worries, it's like a movie review, just because something is not an Acadamy Award nominee does not meen it will not fulfill your needs! This looks like a nice device! How has it been for you? Has it arrived?

I don't like anything over 5 volts anyway so if it will hold a steady voltage in the 4.2 to 5 volt range I will be happy. We are all different but a sticker coming off doesn't bother me at all. I prefer they not be on there anyways. Mine hasn't arrived yet but hopefully it will be here today. You can't beat the price 69.00 for a 18650 VV is a good deal!:2cool:

Mine came from a private seller in Canada so no Lava Tube sticker. I didn't use a meter but felt the voltage did drop as the battery discharged @ least with low res stuff. It seemed to hold better with a 3 ohm carto. You're going to get some voltage drop under load also. For the price I still like the darn thing!

Chart from the Volcano website showing when the protection circuit will kick in @ different ohms:

That is one "handy dandy" chart.....refer to it all the time when experimenting with different carts and devices.
