Leaking, and leaking and leaking some more . . .

I have to say I was a big fan of the Vivi Nova. I've posted as much in this forum before. I own at least 5 of them.

What's the deal . . . after awhile, every single one of them leaks!

Does anyone know either:
a) How to stop these things from leaking, or
b) A better alternative that doesn't leak.

I have an Atom Bomb also, leaks!

I'm using them on the Provari.

Does anyone know if the Z-Atty Pro leaks? I was thinking about getting one of those.

The best way I know of to stop them from leaking is empty them completely of juice. Lift your booted foot up aprox knee high now stomp them to pieces. Throw them in the trash ahhhhh that felt good now order a phiniac tank some carts of your choice and a good punch. A good quality rba or two and except for a rare accruing flash back of a dry hit that nagging feeling of when is it going to leak goes away completely;-)
Well you might want to order your other stuff before smashing.

Things that cause leaks on vivis are: cracks in the thread from either stress (over tightening or a drop) or some juice will melt the plastic or deform it or not putting the little silicone cap on the head back on right. Inside a Vision Vivi there is a cap with a metal piece in it. There is a flat side and a funnel shaped side. The funnel goes up flat down. If you do not have a good seal on the tank or the cap that presses down on that silicone piece it will leak too.
That is all I have ever see or heard that causes leaks. I have 5 vivi's 4 visions and a clone. Two 3.5's and 3 minis'. I do not have leak problems. I did have a 3.5 ml tank crack at the threads from stress.
FYI keep an eye on IBT as they will be coming out with a glass tank for vivi's I would imagine that would be for the 3.5 an not the mini as glass for that would be a bear to make. They make metal tanks for all if you don't feel like waiting on the glass.

dude stop lol they are talking about the smoktech vivi tank not the vivi nova! they said so in thier forum postings.

anyways it sounds like the white oring is worn out or pinched when you reassemble them. i've had tanks last months before just retiring them from non use. either that or the small oring inside the head is worn or gone.

I use Vision vivi novas and have never had any leaks. if you are using the Vision one I can only think you may have the little top cap upside down - as some-one said, the funnel side needs to point upwards.
If not Vision... I've seen so many people have problems with the knock offs.

What are you talking about? The OP said "Vivi Nova".

I've got a bunch of Vivi Nova tanks - mini and full size. I've never had a leak. I don't know what I would have to do to MAKE one leak if I wanted to. I suppose either (1) buy a knockoff instead of the real Vision Vivi Nova, or (2) put the silicone cap on upside down as suggested above, or (3) not screw it together tightly as suggested above.

I've been using them for several months and have never had a leak. I'm very happy with mine.

One of mine leaked from the bottom the other day, found out it was from the pooling that likes to happen in the top cap that there seams to be no fix for. I blew it out, cleaned my drip tip and top cap and it stopped.

I agree with buzz (maybe not the smashing part lol), I have been emptying and setting aside my novas and replacing them with even the cheapy carto tanks. No leaks, no dry hits, occasional flooding because I'm still getting use to how many holes necessary for which juice but that's my fault and not the tank lol.

I have hated my VVN since I got it. I even tried to GIVE IT AWAY to another vaper AND THEY GAVE IT BACK.

Leaking.

Bottom gets too tight, need pliers to unscrew them...

Try to unscrew it, the bottom stays in and the plastic body unscrews from the base.

Zaps my lips and tongue with mini electric shocks.

Mutes the flavor of all my juices.

Who's got two thumbs and doesn't like the VVN? This guy.

Can those o-rings be purchased and replaced, or do you just toss it out and put a new one on?

I've never seen them offered for sale, but that doesn't mean anything. I've lost a couple of those O-rings and mashed another from over-tightening. The replacement that works for me is plumber's teflon tape. Cut a length sufficient to wrap around the threads, then cut in half lenghwise. It's easiest to do this with a steel straight-edge and an X-acto knife or scalpel against glass or a self-healing cutting mat. The teflon tape is too limp to cut easily with scissors. Wrap around threads, screw the Vivi Nova together, and you're good to go.

I envy your ingenuity but that is entirely too much to ask to do for a non-DIY guy. Everyone says how the VVN is "fill and forget", when in fact, it is not at all. Look at all the threads about them. I've had more technical trouble and goobledygook speak thrown at me about this VVN, when all I have to do is turn around, prime a carto, slide it into a tank, and done. Done, done, and done.

I am in the firm camp that anyone who thinks VVN are "fill and forget" simple are a little off the mark. It is most definitely NOT fill and forget simple.

EDIT: In order to do what you suggest, I need to buy:

1) Plumbers teflon tape (what is that and why and how, guess I'm going to Ace Hardware...)

2) Ok, we all have pocketknives, but what is a "steel straight edge", and now I have to get an xacto knife and extra blades from Ace Hardware, too?

3) a glass mat? A self-healing cutting mat? Where is the average joe gonna get one of those? even if he asks, he's not fully informed, so someone might sell him something else.

If I have to raid Ace Hardware to rebuild a freaking VVN, it's not worth the effort. Another toss.

It's really not an electric shock, It's the spatter of hot juice, Happens to me when I chain vape it and the coil actually boils the juice. I though it was electric shocks as well until I got to thinking about and there is absolutely no way plastic drip tip can conduct electricity to shock you.

Leaking - Mine have never leaked a drop.

Bottom gets too tight, need pliers to unscrew them - User error

Try to unscrew it, the bottom stays in and the plastic body unscrews from the base - User error

Zaps my lips and tongue with mini electric shocks - Sounds like there was a short between your PV and the VN.

Mutes the flavor of all my juices - Never had that problem with mine.

Are you sure you got a genuine Vision Vivi Nova? I'm convinced that most of the problems are with the knockoffs.
