I've bought this e-cigarette recently (see attachment, could not insert a pic)

What I noticed, quite often it is easily possible to suck some liquid together with "smoke". That's definately not right .. I use it correctly, never put it the "filter" side down. This also causes dry lips, and makes it almost impossible to e-cig.

I am guessing this might be a faulty atomizer. Could you tell me from the picture which type of atomizer is that and where can I get an alternative one ? I would also like to get another taste (heard there are "marlboro" taste atomizers) and more "smoke".

Any advice is highly appreciated.

ok..its hard to say,but from the pic,and the old style box,id say its a DSE-101...it should say what model it is on the back of the little booklet you received with it anyway,so check the model number.

most suppliers will carry different flavours for the cartridges.

its a supermini, and they are a deisgn and a size which can lead to liquid in the mouth sometimes.

maybe your batteries are faulty,or not sufficiently charged.
maybe your atomiser is faulty.
maybe youre not taking a sufficient primer puff to heat the atomiser.
maybe youre sucking too hard.

anyway, all i can suggest is that you ensure your batteries get a 4 hour charge...
take a few primer puffs before the main drag to heat the atomiser enough so it can effectively vaporize the liquid...like puffing a pipe...
sip slowly like sipping a straw instead of sucking hard.

try those things and if they dont work then report back.

Thanks for your comments Darcy

It says Model number RN4081 .. googled its produced by Shenzhen First Union Technology Co.,Ltd. .. can it use the same atomiser as e.g. gamuccis ?

I normally leave batteries to charge overnight, 6-8 hrs minimum ..

Good point about pre-heating the atomiser, will test it in the next couple of days ... did not expect it to be a known design "feature" of superminis (they are still bigger than normal cigs though) ..that must be a health hazard to eat nicotine liquid ?

no mate...best use a RN4081 atomiser.
are you in the UK?if you are, this site is the best to buy from...he sells spares for that model of supermini

Electronic Cigarette | Free Yourself... | e-cigs Welcome

the RN4081 is supposed to have less leakage than previous models,so i dont know...it might be a dodgy atomiser or batteries...or the way you're smoking it...its hard to say really.

the leakage isnt a design feature, its just a consequence of having such a small form...its generally a rarer occurrence in pen styles and minis than superminis.

if you got it recently and you think its dodgy, contact your supplier...if theyre any good they should replace it.

I have a stack of RN4081s and they're pretty good (whistle a lot though). You shouldn't be getting leakage - a smear fills the cart on the damn thing. I think it's probably your technique, so try the method in Darcy's post above. Using these things is more like drinking than smoking and it does take a while to get used to.

Welcome aboard

Thanks guys, I smoked it as a normal cigarette ..will now try that method.

I checked that website, they seem to stock the original atomisers only. So if I want to have another flavour do I need to buy another cigarette type ? I saw some references on other forums people were mixing atomisers and cartridges between gamucci and kissbox for example. It's a bit confusing, there are so many similar e-cigs, all probably made at the same factory in China, should be some compatibility between them ?

the flavour comes from the liquid in the cartridge, not the atomiser...

the atomiser basically just heats up the liquid in the cartridge and vapourizes it-its a heat source....the flavour comes from the liquid in the cartridge-check out the cartridge flavours on the site i gave you.

its really not very complicated,so dont worry...the fact is,you have an RN-4081,so forget kissboxs, gamuccis etc, they have nothing to do with your ecig, theyre not even the same style....just worry about the one you have.

is there any heat coming from the atomiser you have,or is it cold when you suck?have you contacted your supplier yet?

Yes, I contacted my supplier and he is sending a new atomiser, but has also mentioned that no one had this problem before ..

Understand now where the flavour is coming from, but it looks like they don't have marlboro taste cartridges for this model .. and the standard ones do not really taste like tobacco ..

Thanks again, it does help to understand how these things work
