My suggestion: When filling, take off the cap and used the condom filling method but push the battery side into it instead. Watch the top of the filler in the cart and keep pushing the cart down into the condom until the liquid is just barely pooling. It may come up through the tube, just let is soak into the filler. Let it sit for a minute. Pull the cartomizer out of the rubber cap and blow a little from the mouth side of the cartomizer to get any excess out. Use the rubber to catch the extra liquid. Wipe off the carto and wipe out the battery connector good. Put the white cap back on.

That's about as full as you can get one of these things. No spins needed. When all is done you should be able to hold it up to a light and see a sliver of light down the center of the carto. If you can't it may be a little over filled still and need a little more blown out.

My cartomizers have soft white rubber caps. On a completely full carto I put the white cap back in only about half way. Seems to help avoid sucking up juice. If I stick with cartos I'll probably get some of the delrin t-tip knock offs to help prevent juice in mouth. Maybe they'll get reasonably priced at some point.

When I first started using cartomizers I filled from the mouth side using the condom fill method and it was really inconsistent due to air pockets that would get trapped in there. Plus I'd constantly slurp up juice.

Lots of rambling. Hope something in there helps.

UD.

I have very limited experience with cartos, but the first refill method I tried has worked fine about a dozen times with the same carto so far. I just pull the mouth end cap off, pull the inner ring out, check to see that the hole in the batting is in the middle, then tilt the cartridge to the side and add 15-20 drops tot he filler. If I get too much a drop or two will leak out the battery end, but other than that it's ready to go.

Being new to all of this, I wanted to refill my own carts as well. Still, after reading through the forums, I was reluctant to open up the carts and instead opted for the condom refilling method. I had a couple of mild successes that way, but still struggled with plugged carts that were nearly impossible to draw from and others that were so "airy" that I couldn't get a good vape. Reading this thread helped me better understand the refilling process and provided me with some much needed insight.

Thank you all so much.

Maybe I'm just having an easier time, but I don't even bother with the condom method or any other weird refill. I just leave the rubber stopper on the battery end, stick a safety pin in the hole of the cap on the other end, and pop that out, which occasionally has taken some wiggling. Then pop out the rubber gasket. Then 18 drops into the polyfill. I've filled 20 of them up today, and tried a drag off each. No juice, great vapor, great taste, etc. I'm not sure why people are having so many issues? Anyway, mine are just the bulk pack from eastmall.

I have to say....there really isn't anything you can do while filling a cartomizer that is going to make it more difficult to draw on......the worst that can happen is the air ring at the battery end is going to fill with juice, which can be cured simply by wiping with a kleenex......usually the air passage within the cartomizer is going to be cleared just from the sucking action of pulling the condom off....

do your cartomizers have four notches on the battery end for air passage?....sometimes, the vinyl wrapper can be mispositioned and block these....if so, use a razor sharp knife and trim it back so you can clearly see the brass from the side....

I've found to enjoy the V4L cartrages the best for vaping and refilling. I'll take a syringe and put anywhere from .5mL to 1mL of fluid in there (depending on how much I think I've vaped out of the cart) pop the top off of the cartomizer and stick the needle into the stuffing. I'll then slowly pull the needle out as I'm putting the juice in. I'll usually do a N S E W and then topp off the top so that it's almost completely saturated. I'll then put the to back on, let it sit over night and then I'm ready to start vaping again. Hope that helped.

This is helpful information! All of my V4L carts are perfect. All of the carts I bought with my starter kit from another vendor have at least 2 of the notches covered. Hadn't noticed the difference before visually, but I could sure tell a difference in the draw. I'll set about doing some whittling on the wrappers and see what happens. Thanks!!! :)
